Very disappointing pork ramen, however its the only place in Victoria to get a fix. The pork ramen broth was very thin, the noodles nothing special, and the egg was terrible and over cooked. The pork belly was a nice untraditional addition though, which was good. The vegetarian spicy ramen is also good, one of the better vegetarian ramens I have tried.
The food is presented well, but Food Ramen is really quite poor otherwise. I can look past the small selection of menu items as many ramen places are like that. I cannot however look past the undercooked ramen (no, not al dente) and the salty broth. Yes, I returned because I rarely rate a place before at least a couple of experiences. Both times were underwhelming. If you want very good ramen try ‘I Kyu’, ‘Kuma’ or the best ‘Stubborn Chef’.
One of the best ramen places in town but still not good enough. Keeps me wanting more. More variety needed I think. Nothing really hits the spot. Occasionally I will get over cooked noodles which is a huge disappointment.
This place is soooo hit and miss. Some days it’s all noodles and no broth other days it’s a ton of broth and not enough noodles. I want to love it because it’s good on the good days but on other trips I feel ripped off. And that battleship curry doesn’t taste anything like curry. Low marks for inconsistency. I’d rather just get Pho.
Searched specifically for ramen. Had the kimchi/pork ramen. Also, Edamame potstickers. Nice execution. The potstickers were good. Off to rate Vancouver’s Ramen!
This is my boyfriend’s favourite ramen spot, so I’ve been dragged here a few times despite not really enjoying soupy food unless it’s the middle of winter and the Christmas reruns are on. The specials are always as fantastic as the staff, but be sure to get it early as stock is limited. On the main menu, the green curry ramen in particular is the most unnatural yet so perfect mild and flavourful take on fusing ramen with other amazing dishes. This ethnic pairing is as unique as the art on the walls, and is surely worth another visit.
not exactly traditional ramen but i dont think that is what they are going for. i could eat here everyday. the bbq pork ramen special and the tuna tataki are my favs!
