This cafeteria is on the Fifth Floor of The Bay, and so actually on Government Street, NOT on Douglas Street (which is just the general address for the front of the whole shopping centre). Its official name seems to be currently the Cafe Bon Appetit. You go up in an elevator that itself has windows showing you the view, and then you can sit in the spacious cafe with its many windows showing the harbour. Just as perfect on cloudy winter days as in the summer. You need only buy a cup of coffee, or some other little item, but full meals are also available. Wine and beer is also available. A perfect place to go by yourself, with a friend, or with small children. I agree completely with the 2013 Epicure Review — the food is basic, inexpensive, department store food — including hot items, sandwiches, soup, breakfast, etc. Really an unknown treasure. The only drawback is the limited opening time, since this is in a department store.
Best view in the city!. This restaurant has reasonable food (Department store cafeteria – you get what you expect, quality is good) and prices are reasonable. What sets this place apart from others is the amazing view! Probably the best view of the inner harbour you can get in any restaurant in Victoria. With lunch $5-7 and dinner $7-10, you just can’t beat it!
