Great music, great atmosphere. Our group had several drinks improperly made, but what’s worse, is when I ordered the pizza, it had a metal nylock nut in it! I bit into a piece of metal… When I confronted the staff about it all they would offer me is another pizza. When I said I didn’t want to have to pay for it either, they cancelled the order… Terrible! We’ve got photos of it too.
It’s all about the music. Hermann’s has been a Victoria mainstay for over 30 years now and it’s clear that time has been spent refining the club’s character. It has not been spent refining the menu. Food on offer is basic – reubens, mozza sticks and the like – and generally fills the gap but won’t impress. The service, too, can be slow but is usually friendly.Live music is the reason people still come to Hermann’s and they rarely disappoint – Jesse Winchester & Mark Berube are just two artists who have come through in recent memory. There is always a cover charge to get in and the amount varies, from $5-$10 for local acts to $20 and up for marquee artists. Reservations are not offered for ticketed events.
