I’m salivating just thinking about JJ’s BBQ pork. We came across this food truck thanks to a recommendation by my fiance’s friend at the Shipyard’s Night Market one night… and then made another trip out there the next weekend for more! The first trip we had the garlic fried rice with BBQ pork. The serving of pork was phenomenal, and it was perfectly fatty. My first try was better than the second, however, as I found the pork’s consistency a bit tougher on the second go – but still good nonetheless. The second time we went I ordered a panwich. I prefer the pork on rice rather than in the bun, but it was still good. Can’t wait for round 3!
I went to JJs Trucketeria during lunch and man was there a line up. The prices are just under $10 for most items but man, are they ever generous with their portions.Panwiches are amazing! You probably get more meat than bun. It’s so awesomeThe Halfer is great for those with large appetites. foodology.ca
Meh. I’ve tried it a couple times, its very rice heavy with little sauce or flavour to the rice, the meat was fairly plentiful but definitely not very good cuts. Fairly fatty and grissly. I avoid it every time its by my work now.
Stuffed and Big Smiles. Filipino BBQ pork and killer dipping sauce with Garlic rice that fed all 3 of us. Meatlover’s dream, and not just some chunk of meat, but smaller bite sizes pieces covered in sauce, and bustin’ with flavour. Really like their tangy dipping sauce too. Drinks are unique and tasty, had a strawberry with pineapple chunks the other day. Market rice was average.
Street City Food III. Garlic Fried Rice $8 4.5/5 – I wasn’t planning to get this but when I walked around it smelled too good. The Filipino BBQ pork was super juicy. It was still good when I reheated it when I got home. The garlic fried rice was a little too strong for me. I would ask and see if I can have plain rice. I was hoping for some veggie on the side too.
Mobile review. The bbq pork is very tasty and loaded with flavour, you gotta get the vinegar dipping sauce too. It is a pretty good value on the sweet bun it comes with but its really just meat and bread, its tasty none the less though!
YUMMY!!. They were parked outside MEC and the smell was so good, I had to try it! I had the Filipino BBQ Pork. Fantastic flavour, texture, everything. I added a little Sri Racha–next time would add quite a bit more, and skip the bun, but I like things spicy, and almost never eat white bread. I might also ask for a little more of the cabbage which was on the bottom. Friendly owners. And a REALLY big quantity for only $5.
