Love this place. Hands down the best sushi in Victoria! Highly recommend to anyone looking for this type of food. I have never experienced poor service. And the times it has been a little slow the place was very busy so kind of expected 🙂
It a pleasure to go into this restaurant which is located in a quite alley in the noisy downtown. I super recommended you their barbecue squid and sushi. Service was great. BUT the Doburi was the worst I have ever tasted. The chicken was tasteless I guessed they just boil the chicken without adding more condiment but only salt??? Beside, the donburi rice was too sticky as well.
We were staying in Victoria for a family getaway, and wanted to try this out based on the hotels recommendation, and the good reviews we read here. We went for delivery. The delivery took almost an hour and the food we received for the cost was a huge disappointment. First, they got our order wrong; the girl at the front was new, she stated, but I could hear her drumming her fingers while I was placing our order. We ordered the chicken teriyaki dinner box, red dragon roll, california roll, dynamite roll and mixed veggie tempura. The chicken teriyaki came a la carte, just chunks of cold slimy chicken and some veggies, no rice, soup or salad. I called them back, and they offered to fix it, but it meant we had to wait longer to eat together. The rolls tasted like they had been stored in a refrigerator for a while- they didn’t taste fresh. The $14 red dragon roll was just six small pieces with a slab of raw salmon on top, no sauces or anything, as this would cost extra. The tempura was soggy and not crispy. I called them back a second time to let them know we had expected more for our money and asked to talk to a manager. The girl said there wasn’t one available. Gave it a 2.0 only because of the nice delivery man- he was courteous and apologetic when he had to come back with the 2nd round of teriyaki. Other than that, quality to cost ratio is abysmal. Would not recommend.
Loved the ramen. The soup was thick and creamy, with hint of coconut. Nigiri is one of the better ones in town. Atmosphere and decor is dark and delightful. Will return.
I am unsure about the actual quality and service of the food in the restaurant, but if you’re looking for a Japanese food delivery, please do not get it from here. The items I ordered are chicken karage, chicken don, and pork gyoza.1) Chicken Karage- Hard and tough- Unseasoned, no taste2) Chicken don- Small portion of chicken compared to the rice and vegetables- Chicken was dry and unseasoned3) Pork Gyoza- No crunch, despite ordering the deep fried version- No juicy filling, dry and blandThe only thing I liked out of all the food is the rice. Not satisfactory, and definitely NOT worth your money.
Had the sushi boat for two. It was a huge meal with a lot of variety. Super delicious and fresh. The service was great too. Can’t wait to go back.
The food is always great, however the wait on food was a little bit long this time around. Generally, the service is very good and the atmosphere is nice.
