Wow, a real authentic mexican cafe/restaurant that is reasonably priced with decent sized portions(seems to be the downfall of the others in town). Well balanced flavours served with a smile. One of the only decent places to visit in the Hudson market, although I’m sure the sky high rent is what ruins the space for most of the other businesses there.

Pazole soup. This place serves really food made from the heart. It is so rare to have this kind of experience in a restaurant these days. I will be back.

Best Mexican Food in Victoria. Most authentic and only real Mexican food in Victoria. Having lived in San Diego and traveled to numerous spots in Mexico, clearly this is the closest you will find. The owner is lovely and willing to make adjustments for personal likes. Hot sauces very tasty. Prices reasonable. Too bad they are in the Hudson market and not able to open for breakfast.

Very Authentic, Great Flavours!. I went to La Cocina de Mama Oli today after searching for a place to grab a burrito in Victoria while visiting a friend. I have eaten many burritos from many different restaurants and this burrito was easily one of the best. I ordered the chicken burrito and it was full of flavour, juicy but not messy, the refried beans were wonderful, rice had good flavour too. I ordered a side of Guacamole and chips because it was on the specials board and it was a great addition. Good serving size, great tasting guacamole, well balanced flavour between the cilantro and lime. Very chunky guac, very hardy with the diced onion, tomato and jalapeos. I would definitely go back here if I lived in Victoria. Really friendly staff too. Good downtown location at the Hudson Market.

Mama mia that is good!. I think these reviews are inordinately harsh. It takes time to work the kinks out in a new business. We find the owner friendly and the food delicious. The refried beans, which are spiked with a little chorizo and gouda – fantastic! And we love the fish and pork tacos (the pork taco has lovely seasonings and I love the salsa verde. We have been several times, and the wait has been brief. The portion size of the tacos is appropriate for a nice snack and $3.50 each is not going to break the bank for crying out loud. I’d far rather eat a modest portion of something incredibly delicious than a vat of slop (good ingredients don’t come cheap). We haven’t tried the Pozole yet, but it sure looked good. We’ll be back and I’d ask other folks to give these friendly people a chance. And I love the bright, cheerful kiosk. horsingaroundvictoria.com

Not a recommended place to eat. First, I’m a Latino guy, so I have some sense of how Mexican food should taste like… and this place doesn’t have the right one. Secondly, it was really disappointing and disorganized. It took them around 20 or more minutes to serve the plates, which were cold by the time the last one arrived. It was completely over priced for the size and quality of the food. The most frustrating part was seeing how the owner was blaming the mess on her new employee… I believe that this should have been part of the training that you have to provide them.. right?I will never go back to this place.

Traditional Mexican fare mostly cooked from scratch. Highly recommended is the Pozole, but it is only available on Sunday. Worth the trip to downtown.
