Sloooow service (if they’re open at all). Opening time is supposed to be 11:30 am on Sundays. Went a couple of times close to the noon hour, and we were turned away both times (along with other groups who had arrived). They said they needed another half hour before they were ready. Not a good thing to turn away several groups of paying customers. No explanation, no apologies. Finally managed to get a table. The pizzas are quite good, but they sure took a long time to arrive. Seems the kitchen is not organized and not ready for prime time. I really wanted to like the place, but they’re just not able to step up (at least the couple of times I tried).

Very Enjoyable Meal. We had a party of four have dinner at the Lido and it was a very enjoyable experience. We had the Pita / Hummus platter as a appetizer and that was very good. For the main we ordered two pizzas (Volcano and Prawn). They were both very tasty. The service was outstanding and I would highly recommend this place.

Best mushroom soup I’ve ever tasted!!!. Mushroom soup was superb thanks to culinary skills of Lido’s chef.

Looking for a venue for a private party? Lido is your answer!. I just finished hosting an engagement dinner at Lido and we got the whole space to our selves for our private party. I booked about 6 weeks in advance and I was every bit annoying with all my little requests I had for Steve (The manager) he not only answered my questions in a timely manner, but he never said no to any of my requests! He made everything happen! I was SO impressed. When he told me we would have just a chef (Jamie) and a bartender (Scot) I was a little worried, we had a party of almost 30 people and it seemed like a difficult task for two people to handle. These boys knocked it out of the park! The chef is not only very kind, he is brilliant in the kitchen. My guests are STILL talking about the food. Every course that came out was absolutely to die for. Scot managed to take care of 28 constant drinkers all night, I rarely saw anyone waiting for a drink. He was fast and efficient. I am so grateful for the staff at Lido and making this event the best it could have been. The Brides and family were more than ecstatic. I highly recommend this venue for anyone looking for a space to hold their special occasion, two thumbs WAY up.

Lido Rocks!. If fast and average are what you’re looking for, in your next visit to a restaurant, then don’t go to Lido. Lido doesn’t have a drive-thru. Lido doesn’t boast the fastest service in town and Sysco Foods doesn’t even know where this place is!Lido is a small restaurant with great food made from scratch and a waterfront view that rivals the best in Victoria. Sitting on the patio enjoying a glass of wine or a beer with their delicious fish tacos while a tug and barge float under the Johnson Street bridge and past the window, 50 feet away? That rocks!I’ve always found the staff super friendly and unbelievably accommodating. To be honest, I’m just happy as hell when I go to Lido and I can get in. Although it’s becoming more popular every day as both an eatery and a private event destination, it’s probably one of Victoria’s best kept secrets. And did I mention that parking within 100 feet of the restaurant is rarely a problem? Nice! So, shhh! Don’t tell anyone. We don’t want to spoil a beautiful thing!
