What a gem! I went here before a show at The Royal Theatre and was I ever blown away! I haven’t had food like this in Victoria and this is going to be my new local. Even though the weather was a bit cloudy they let us sit on the stunning rooftop patio to have our glass of wine and duck confit crepes. This place is a winner!! 6 stars 😉

Exceptional, Truely Exceptional. This is a happening place with modern decor outside seating for the not so wet evenings and an absolutely outstanding staff. I am so thankful the food on the dine around town menu is on the standard menu because one course after another was exceptional. From Tuna Tartar and the most delicious duck confit crepes to the sticky toffee pudding desert it was one delight after another. You can catch a bite after the theatre on Friday and Saturdays if you’re quick. Defiantly one we are going to return to. Amazing.

I’ve been looking forward to trying Livet ever since it opened. I was under the impression it still had the focus of a raw bar and charcoal grill. To my disappointment the menu has been completely changed to a tapa bar style menu. Focus was heavily on wines and the cocktail list consisted of 4 varieties. Nothing against wine and tapas but unfortunately the limited tapa/appetizer list didnt contain anything too interesting in my opinion. On the other hand we had amazing service and felt very welcomed by the staff and owner, Graeme. He seated us and made sure we were taken care of. It was nice to see his interaction with his customers. At least now I know what to expect and where to go for a wine stop!

Came here for a light dinner with my girlfriend as I’ve had some good drinks at the Livet once before. We were served some great wine but I was displeased to see the tuna tataki was pre-seared and then refrigerated ice cold to be served. The taste was extra fishy and salty to the point we didn’t eat it. Even though I made a complaint we were still charged for the dish. Next came out a 50 dollar ribeye which for some reason was ruined by cooking it well done. They do things differently here that’s for sure.
