I didn’t eat here – so I can’t comment on the food – but I did attend a party at the space. It was a beautiful space – felt high-end – with a nice dance floor and good staff (quick and friendly bartenders). I would recommend it for private functions/parties.
It’s unfortunate to see that some people have had a negative experience at this establishment. I was organizing a work event at Lux and one of my co-workers said that they saw negative reviews posted online – this is why I felt the need to post about my experiences at Lux. I have always had a good time there and have been there on different nights of the week. They offer a variety of different event depending on the day. If you are booking a big party, they don’t charge a room rate. That is unheard of in this city! The manager Simon has been making changes to try and improve the venue with new drinks and great food. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. I like to drink gin martinis with olives and they were out of olives one evening – Simon went out and got olives, so that I was able to enjoy the drink that I wanted. He went above expectation! I hope that people decide to give this place a try and make up their minds for themselves. I also don’t want to forget that they are one of the only places in the city that offers free pool. Check it out – you won’t be disappointed!!
We organized a UBC department Christmas party at Lux Lounge this year. Simon the manager was very accommodating and was easily available prior to the event and was present during our party to ensure everything ran smoothly. Everyone who attended, thought the venue looked fantastic, that the canapes were delicious and the music kept a lot of people dancing till closing. Thank you Lux Lounge for hosting us. We look forward to returning for another event in the future!
