This is a grocery store located at the Pacific Centre (they’ve got another location at South Granville that seems to be in the same vain of Whole Foods. In addition to groceries, they have a pretty good selection of tasty-looking cakes and other desserts, and various savoury breakfast/lunch items. I had a Pork Empanada, Chocolate Decadence Cake Slice, and Black Forest Slab Cake. I did quite enjoy their food. The prices for their premade foods are fairly reasonable; I do find their groceries to be expensive, however. While I wouldn’t buy groceries here, I do think that their cakes are worth checking out for.Pork Empanada ($3.99):3.5/5The crust was a bit tough and not flaky enough for my liking. There was a generous amount of meat filling however, which was quite tender and juicy, and had a nice bit of heat.Chocolate Decadence Cake Slice ($4.99):3.5/5This consisted of layers of chocolate sandwiching chocolate mousse, and was coated in chocolate buttercream. The cake was fairly tender and moist, while the mousse/buttercream was a bit hard/stiff, but not greasy. I did find it to be a tad on the sweet side. This is certainly no match for the version at Trafiq, but it is still fairly tasty.Black Forest Slab Cake ($4.99):4/5The layers of cake was very tender and moist, with a nice bit of chocolate flavour. The cream was fresh and light, while the cherry fillings provided a great bit of tang.Summary:Food: 3.5/5Price: 3.5/5Service: N/AOverall: 3.5/5Recommendations: Black Forest Slab Cake

It’s a very clean and nice place. Service is a hit or miss at times. Sometimes you get a smart employee helping you, or a grumpy one that doesn’t want to help you.As for the food it’s nothing special. It’s on par with urban fare, but with same or higher prices. I wouldn’t be a regular here. I’d definitely find somewhere else to eat. However, their coffees are good. If I ever needed coffee or a clean toilet, and was around the corner… That’s about it really…If you want to find rich people that can’t cook, you’ll find them here haha.Update: March 4 2017I had a buisness meeting near by and decided to go for a coffee/snack break. I guess near the end of the day sushi goes on special. For the frugal shoppers out there, the special is a good deal. Where else can you find cheap sushi for 5 bucks when your working downtown?
