I didn’t eat in the restaurant but ordered delivery. It was free which was awesome and they delivered in 20 minutes (instead of the hour they quoted me). Food was tasty, hot and fast. I still prefer Jacks as my favourite in town, but this place is closer to me and almost as good so I would totally order from here again.
Whenever I visit Victoria I seem to always go to Ocean Garden. Maybe it is because my girlfriend drags me there because she knows one of the workers. Perhaps this is one of the few good Chinese restaurants. Slightly westernized but still having the Wok flavor. The almond dessert is pretty good, taste like Purdy’s Chocolates! Pretty good price as well for the dessert. The Ginger tofu was different and tasty.

Ordered for delivery tonight, a dinner for four and large Wor Wonton. For $60, I can certainly say I’ll have leftovers for a few days, which I believe wholeheartedly is the only way to order chinese. Our order was taken by a polite young man and told us it would be at our door in an hour, and it was exactly on time. Our delivery driver was courteous and affable, a real people guy. Digging into my paper bag full of no regrets, every dish was piping hot and packed with delicious morsels of deep fried prawns, fried rice, chicken chow mein, and the most tender sweet and sour pork that has ever crossed my lips. Everything was well seasoned, fresh, and made with love. Somewhat disappointed with the diced chicken almond chop suey, which was a bit amateur-esque in conception and not as pleasing as I’d expected. While my waistline may hate me, my tastebuds rejoice.
Gross!. I normally wouldn’t say anything bad about a business, but this food was really bad. The noodles in the chow me in were over cooked and soggy, the chop suey was mostly celery and left a very strange after taste. I would never reccomend this food to anyone. Save yourself a bad meal and look elsewhere.
Pretty good within its limits. If you go into Ocean Garden and want something that is straight off the menu and just be plain old good Chinese Food then this is a very good restaurant. Don’t ask for anything different or special – they don’t react well to change. But the actual food is very good, the service is pleasant once you get to know them, and the portions are a good size and value. The location is very good right in the heart of Chinatown in Victoria. We will often go here before heading to a show at the MacPherson Theater just across the street.
Best wor wonton!. Personally this is my favorite Chinese place in victoria! they have the best worwonton ever. i also enjoyed the salt and pepper tofu, walnut prawns, and the house special chow mien. but i think the Serves needs a bit of work, but other than that the place is great.
