I really loved the ambience of the surrounding shops, along with the restaurant decor itself. Its decorated with very vintage vibes and the waitresses are extremely polite. I really enjoyed my experience there. I ordered the salmon (small size) pasta, which I unfortunately forgot the name of. It was $17 very filling, despite being a small size. The larger size is maybe 1.25 times bigger than the small. My boyfriend ordered The Big Easy, which was a great red sauce pasta with shrimp and sausage. There was only 3 shrimp in the pasta though. Unfortunately one thing that was a bit annoying as that there were so many people and only two waitresses so it took ages for us to get the bill. Otherwise, I had a great experience!
Attended Sunday, September 30, 2018 at 4:30pm as a foursome. The restaurant was far from full at this hour. Our first indication of what was to come was when our waitress got 2 of the 4 drink orders wrong. She seemed to be having difficulty using the tablet in taking down our drink orders. In hindsight, perhaps a mistake, but we chose not take issue over the wrong drink orders when same arrived at the table. When it came time to order our meals, the waitress again struggled with the tablet, asking us to repeat our orders a number of times. When the food arrived at the table, two of the orders were wrong. Very much to our surprise, the waitress stated she knew the orders were wrong when she entered them in her tablet, but brought them to the table anyway. We sent one order back and decided to keep the other wrong one. When the replacement order arrived, it was nowhere near what it was supposed to be. There was no sauce, the spinach leaves were just thrown raw on the plate and the prosciutto ham was in an inedible cold lump. We all agreed that the serving of the inferior quality replacement meal was done as an insult for reordering. At this point wed had enough of Pagliaccis and left after quickly paying our bill, deciding to go elsewhere for dessert. For what is billed as one of Victorias better restaurants, it fell well short of the mark in service and food quality. We will not return and advise others to exercise care.
Last night a small group of us went to Pagliacci’s to celebrate my cousin’s birthday. After enjoying our meal and leaving a generous tip, we left. Less than five minutes after leaving, my cousin realized that he’d left one of his birthday cards on the table. He ran back inside and since the card wasn’t on the table he asked the staff about it. One of the waitresses gave it back to him. He saw it had been opened and when he felt it he noticed the $100 gift card to a store in Vic that had also been inside was missing. He asked them about it and after several minutes of refusing to leave, the waitress went to the back and magically brought it back to him. Luckily he checked before leaving the restaurant a second time. I am appalled that someone would open a card, take the gift card, and hand it back to him empty knowing it was his birthday. Shame on you.
One of the most popular restaurants in Vic. Been around for a long time and has a dedicated following of locals. Very very busy, loud, compact space. Expect a lineup. No reservations. First come first serve so expect a wait. Be warned: It’s a small restaurant with jam packed tables, just centimetres from your neighbour with barely any room to get in or out. So be warned: zero privacy or elbow room and not wheelchair or kid friendly. Focaccia bread is endless and good. I like the seafood lasagne. Rich and flavourful. Cheesecake is fantastic. Pasta is good but not mind blowing (like Il Terrazzo). Great place for a celebratory comfort meal that everyone will enjoy.
They’ve done something with their bread! The foccocia doesn’t have the same salty deliciousness as from previous years. But their pasta dishes are still worth the 30 min wait outside. The server was good about meeting my no-dairy needs and despite being seated in a crowded corner, we were not forgotten!
Whataaaaa place to be…. nothing but this is gonna be the pure Italian indulgence . Perfect food without any waiting on Saturday, yipeeeee. We had a good time with friends , thank you team Pagliacci 🙂
Hands down the most delicious bread I’ve ever put in my mouth. Everything we ate was amazing, but that bread. Minstrels could sing songs about that bread.
