Atmosphere is comfortable and not pretentious at all; the owners are very kind and knowledgable. Would highly recommend this restaurant to people who enjoy having a fine dining experience.
Delicious!. Lapin du jour was very good. Wine was wonderful. And the best part? The creme brulee — simply the best I have had in Victoria.
The owner was very funny and nice. Maybe a little burned out?The atmosphere was a little dated, but fine.Not Michelin quality, so do not expect it. The food was nice…a mixture of Cajun, French and mexicanish. I think my fillet was a good quality, but may be out of a bag instead of butcher shop fresh. Not too expensive if you are used to fine dining.Overall 6/10
Five Star Restaurant. Matisse is an excellent restaurant with the rich french cuisine it favors and could be favored by anyone starting with the filet of beef which is an excellent dish and there chocolate truffles over the top followed by lovely wine this will make for a great date night or even a high class gathering.Zach
Tired and pretentious. Much better restaurants around with really genuine from the heart cuisine. And please don’t poison your customers. When you say you’ll be careful about food allergies, it’s a good idea to live up to your promises.
Amazing Restaurant & Service. So often it is hard to have the combination of having a spectacular meal and great atmosphere and service but I guarantee you will get it here. My husband and I chose to celebrate our latest wedding anniversary here and it was perfect. The French food was cooked like I remember eating growing up in Europe and it felt like you were in small little restaurant in Europe. Well worth every penny!!!!!!!!!!!!
