Really good food. It is really unique authentic food. Best part of the restaurant is the ambiance and service. Best Indian food in Victoria (at least if you want good indian food).
Excellent food and service!
Great Food!. Don’t be put off by the hidden location. Inside is great. Sometimes service is a little slow because one server will be taking care of a large area, but service is very friendly and helpful understanding the menu items. Food tastes amazing! From naan appy to the mains to something sweet. Drinks are great too! Try the boozy chai (chai tea and rum = yum).
A GOOD DOSE O’ DOSA!. Dosa’s not an easy thing to find in Victoria, and I am thrilled to have found it here. I used to have my favourite little mom ‘n’ pop dosa shop in Vancouver but it disappeared years ago. For those who haven’t tried one, masala dosa is a huge paper-thin lentil pancake surrounding a moist, savoury, mound of spicy potato deliciousness. The traditional accompaniments of sambar ( a kind of thin soup) and coconut chutney at this restaurant were also some of the best I’ve ever had. The server, whom I think was also the chef on the day I went in, also offered me a complimentary side salad when I said I wanted some veg. He couldn’t have been more kind or accommodating, as my friend and I came in to eat not realizing that it was just before their lunch hours were over, and he let us stay to enjoy our food and extra cups of chai. I am looking forward to coming back!
Excellent Authentic Indian. This place is great – I’ve been here both with big groups and with my boyfriend for birthdays and our anniversary and have never been let down. Beautifully spiced authentic indian food at a reasonable price. The lunch buffet is great value as well.
Superior sub-continental cuisine. Light, crispy, airy dosas, rib-sticking goat curry or beef short-ribs, creative dishes like crispy cauliflower or fresh cucumber and daikon salad — everything they do here is on a different level. It’s the kind of Indian cooking that’s hard to find anywhere. The service from the chef-owner and staff is attentive and sincere. I hate to say this but they deserve lines of patrons out the door. Luckily for me, there are probably plenty of folks who prefer the same out-of-the-jar goop that passes for Indian — lot’s of that around here and elsewhere.
Serving is very small, you are almost hungry after spending $50 for too people.. I would never ever recommend anyone to go at this restaurant. Food is not fresh, boiled rice were hard like rock and at least four days old. I ordered a vegetarian dish and a meat dish with few nans, taste was horrible, nan were paper thin, serving was a kidi serving, Owner seems to be too mean.
