The sushi here was great! We enjoyed everything we tried. Nice restaurant with a good location. Very good service. Would definitely come back to this restaurant.
The experience here wasn’t great. Service was incredibly slow especially with only 7 tables filled. We waited over 30 minutes for our meal. The food came out one at a time even when we told them that we wanted certain dishes together at the same time as appetizers. So we all ate at different times, the sushi came out first and the hot entrees followed 10 minutes later. Never experienced this kind of service before. Servers did not seem to understand English too well. Food was okay. The ramen with BBQ teriyaki was too oily. The noodles were swimming in oil. Beef teriyaki ramen noodles with veggies was good and portion was filling but it was not outstanding. Awesome sushi roll was okay. Although the price was affordable, I would not return here as the service was not impressive, food was only okay.
I am a big fan of all you can eat sushi. This place has awesome, fresh seafood and well prepared dishes. The service is great. My only issue is that there are too many rules for the AYCE. They make you do math when ordering sashimi (of which I am a monster), so thats kind of a pain. The location and ambiance is delightful though, so you get the feel of going to a fancy sushi restaurant without the price tag. Great place for a date!
Try their all you can it. Such a good deal. There is no sushi place provide as various sashimi as this one for just $19.99. They dont have the teriyaki noodles and agedasi tofu or tempura on it though ,only some Appetizers, sashimi, sushi, rolls and cones for sushi lovers I think it worth to try. Our friends and I come here 3 times , always as good as usually. Love it .
Excellent. Shima is hands down a cut above the others. EC.We are from Calgary, the sushi here is way better. We tried 3 different sushi place while we were in Victoria, this one is the best. Tryh their Tuna tataki ,and hotnight roll so good.
Disappointing experience. We had been looking forward to trying Shima Sushi for their all-you-can-eat experience during our recent trip to Victoria. While there were mixed reviews, we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and try the food for ourselves. We were incredibly disappointed by the experience. While the waitress provided friendly service, the food was quite horrendous. To be specific, the nigiri had so much rice that the fish could barely be tasted. The tuna itself was very fishy. Lastly, the sashimi pieces were microscopic. What further marred the experience was that when this was brought up to the manager, she replied very aggressively that we would be charged for any rice left on our plate as we had over ordered. Our issue was not with the amount of food that we had ordered, as we have frequently been to all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants. The issue was that the amount of rice placed in their sushi simply overwhelmed the entire dish and made it not enjoyable.Save your money and go to another sushi restaurant that provides good customer service and palatable food.
