The staff were friendly, the place was clean, the food was ok. For the price the amount of food served was good, I really enjoyed the rice, but the beef Kabob itself was a little bland.
Bland food, nice staff. We had lamb stew and lamb kabobs, stew was mediocre and kabobs were disappointing. We won’t be going back.
I was a little iffy until I saw actual Persians eating here. The food is very good. I had the lamb special with delicious yogurt! I will definitely come back.
Wholesome home-cooking. This place has loads of heart and chef Ben knows how to prepare high quality food at an affordable price. I believe this is the only Persian restaurant in Victoria and it is delicious! I strive to support family businesses that deliver amazing, unique food.Try the saffron-marinated chicken kabobs, and the braised lamb shank meal. Delicious!. I love the yumminess that is served to me at Side Dish. I have brought friends there as well… sometimes they fall in love with the place, other times it’s just not their thing. Whatever the case, I am so happy we have this little restaurant here in Victoria!!!
Bland but friendly. We took our 8 week old son with us for lunch here. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming but the food was a disappointment. I had a stewed lamb and aubergine with rice and my husband had chicken and lamb kabobs. The only nice tasting thing was the chicken. The stewed lamb had very little meat. I feel bad about giving this place a bad review because they are such nice people but the quality of the food really needs to improve.
Open earlier than expected.. It opens earlier than expected on a Sunday afternoon. The ladies that serves us were warm and friendly. The lamb skank with spicy rice was incredibly delicious and satisfying. The kebabs combo was as expected. I am in love with the sweet aroma and flavour of its Persian tea… Will definitely dine there again.
