Another one of those tiny Chinese joints where you’d go for some quick Chinese food. Super Chef Grill was our go to place whenever we wanted to have really spicy Chinese, coz boy oh boy, these guys would really whip out spicy food. The husband-wife duo – the wife is at the till, husband is at the grill – are quite popular in Yaletown and although they don’t have a very expansive menu, the stuff they have delivers the required bang for the buck.I’ve usually had the grilled beef with rice/noodles, or the ginger pork with rice/noodles. I love the flavors of the spicy beef tossed with some veggies (makes me feel less guilty) and the sauce added. My buddy Drew Humesalmost always used to go for the noodles option, and would ask them to make it extra spicy. He’s lived in China in the past, and speaks a bit of Mandarin, and is able to connect with the owners here and convinces them to make it mind-numbingly spicy. This place is right across from where we live – thank god! Great food and great service. This small restaurant is run by a very friendly, sweet and humble husband and wife duo who cooks with a smile. Food is very tasty and you get really good value for your money. Our staples here are the curry chicken, soya duck, soya chicken and ofcourse the dumplings! The best part is that they cook with water right before your eyes so the food is healthy and fresh. Everyone should come and support this local mom and pop business.
definitely it’s one of the places in dt that gives lots of portion, but still not as big as kent’s kitchen, but definitely a good portion for the price that you’re paying in dt.in terms of taste, i think it’s okay, your below average chinese restaurant cooking i’ll say, hmmm i trully think in terms of taste it can be definitely be better without breaking the bank for the restaurant… hmmmmoverall i would say this place offers a lot in terms of portion definitely worth it, but then in terms of taste, it’s definitely not my favorite but i can definitely say there’s a huge room for improvement. Super chef super staff. I went to superchef for dinner the other day. the staff are soo friendly and you get your money’s worth big time! You will not be disappointed in the portion sizer and the flavours! good alternative to fast food and they make it nice and spicy if you want!
