What can I say about this place?…. I think the best way to describe the food is to say that it sort of tastes like what a back alley in chinatown smells like… I’m not sure how else to describe it, but it was absolutely horrible, and poorly cooked on top of it. It also took a long time. I will never return and I highly advise you don’t waste your time or money here.

met up here with a friend from out of town. we were going for sushi but i needed something right away. went for the bourbon apple glazed wings. not much flavour and no seasoning at all. lots of liquor to choose from and the wait staff is smoking hot and very nice.

horrible service / waited 15-20m each time to order anything and even 30m to get the bill (I’m not exaggerating)wings were good and Caesar drink was really good that’s why it deserved 2.5 otherwise it’s a 1social gathering atmosphere / sports eventsvery loud and crowdedPricey/ not worth the wait and service you’re gettingwould I go back? No, there are plenty of pubs around to waste my time with this one.

Decided to go to Butcher and Bullock as they are one of the pubs/bars that open until 3am. I frequent Donnelly Group often, and have had good experiences. Tonight, we arrived as a group. One of our guests is from Mexico and was having a great time visiting prior to Butcher and Bullock. We arrived quite late and upon last call, everyone decided to order multiple rounds. All the drinks arrived and we were informed within 30 minutes that we needed to finish everything. A server approached us shortly after and informed us that we needed to finish our drinks immediately as the bar was closing. Right after telling us to finish our drinks, she physically grabbed the drink out of our friend’s hand. I took the drink back, and told her that it was inappropriate for her to do so and that she needs to be more respectful. Yes our friend was intoxicated; however, the servers chose to over serve him with 3 drinks at last call and expected him to finish it within under 20 minutes. This is not serving it right, and if the bar decides to do serve, they are not warranted to expect the patron to finish the drinks in such a short time frame. To have the server grab the beer right out of his hand was uncalled for, and when I let her know that she was over stepping her boundaries, she was overly defensive and walked off- arrogant with no apology. A bar staff, or someone from management came over. With no prior knowledge as to what occurred, he immediately defended her and did not even try to listen to what had occurred. We have all worked in the hospitality industry before and we know that when we need to go home, we need to go home. We also understand that perhaps Aimee was having a really bad night. To take it out on a group of guests was not only inappropriate, but very unprofessional. We were having a great time with a friend who was visiting from out of town and the night turned completely sour due to the experience at your bar. This is very unfortunate as I invited my friends on their last night to Butcher and Bullock with good expectations….having the incident with the server ended their vacation on a bad note. This does not make me want to come back to this bar again.

Horrible service, terriblely understaffed. Booked an appointment for 6:30 and they called two days later and left a message to let us know the reservation was cancelled and we were pushed back to 7:30, with no good reason. After we were seated, it took a good 20 minutes before the server brought the water. After we ordered the Dine Out Vancouver Menu, it took a good 30 minutes before the appetizers came. Another good 20 minutes goes by before we get our entree and the trend continues. No one attended us, we got a water refill near the very end of the meal. Waited another 15 minutes just for the bill. The food was decent, greasy pub food, big portions and good value but with that said, the place was understaffed and the servers and the kitchen was slow. Never coming back here again. thehappysloths.com

We made reservations for a large group and we come here quite often. We got there to find out they had forgotten about it. And it was the manager who booked it. No apology or anything. They crammed us into a small area which was very uncomfortable. After a while we finally asked to see the manager since he obviously wasn’t going to come by. He kind of shrugged about it and clearly could care less. We go elsewhere now
