I just ate at the best pizza restaurant in Naples and probably the world, Antica pizzeria da Michelle… it was excellent. Then I realized the margarita pizza in Via Tavere in Vancouver, which I frequent, comes very close. Even though I have no personal connection to this restaurant, I felt proud that restaurant in my home town has a pizza comparable to the best in the world.
Wow. I mean, I could easily say that Via Tevere is one of the best Italian Restaurants in Vancouver, but I was sceptical of their food truck. Silly me. The paninis from this truck are sensational. I had the Piccante. You could seriously taste the freshness of the ingredients and I truly admired the simplicity of its composition. I find a lot of Italian panini places just overload the sandwich with meat, making it too heavy and over powering. Saltibocca does it just right! It’s a big sandwich too for only $9. I’ll be back for the others!
This is likely my favourite food truck in the city. Wood fired sandwiches that are unique. The bread is like a pizza dough so it is crips but also chewy. Fresh mozzarella is melted and gooey and just perfect. Great for lunch and also for a casual dinner when the truck is parked outside one of the breweries in town.
Drug Dealers!. BEWARE! The owners of this food truck aren’t selling pizza, they’re selling crack! This is seriously addictive stuff. Although the idea sounds a bit hokey (last time I had a pizza sandwich was at Subway in the 90’s) This is some seriously good S#$%T. It really tastes like a wood fired pizza… Oh wait that’s cause it is.Don’t try this stuff, you will get hooked.
Best prosciutto I have had in a long time. Will definitely have this sandwich again. Very filling.
