While I was passing by I debated If I wanted any pastries, I thought about pastries but at the same time I had thought about that beach body. I had been told they make decent Almond cookies. At $1.10-$1.25 per cookie( If I remember) I was hesitant to even buy it in the first place. After standing and debating for a while, I decided to pick one up and bring it to the counter. I handed my plastic card over, she told me cash and debit only. I had no cash on me so I handed over my debit.Upon inserting the card the machine me that there was tax added and another $.25 cents charge on top of the cookie. This cookie that I was hesitant to buy in the first place just got even more expensive. I politely told her that I no longer want the cookie. She gave me this dirty look and I walked out. I will come back when I have cash and I feel like the cookie again. Hopefully, the next time my experience will be better.

The lady/owner at the front is extremely rude when you ask for a reciept , as many times I have been overcharged. I was in there to buy 3 different types of pastries (6 of each), total of 18 items at $1.55 each which comes to $27.90.She charged me $37.20 and insisted that is correct until she finally took out her calculator. I have witness her do this on several occasions but not to this extreme, usually $1.00 to $2.00 more per transaction, enough to add up at the end of the day, but not enough to go back and complain.I always thought that it is mandatory to provide a receipt for a purchase transaction, this store does not provide this normally unless you really demand one. Items are not rang into the cash register, only on her hand held calculator.Unfortunately, I have spoke with other people and they too have this experience with this particular store. My advice is to check your purchases and ask for a proper receipt, not a total written on top of the purchase box.I am surprise this business has not been alerted to Revenue Canada Agency for an audit.

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover. After 12 days away from mainland, I couldn’t stomach another sandwich anymore. The place was not pleasing to the eyes, but seeing how many local gave it good reviews, I feel I just might have a chance. The reviewer are right, my roast pork was as good as I could had on the mainland, price is also excellent, I eat this over any fast food joint any day!

What a gem of a place. It harkens back to a simpler time. It is completely genuine, authentic & good Chinese pastries & BBQ duck, pork & Soya Chicken.

Best duck in Victoria. This place seems hidden but is a local favorite.Without a doubt the best duck in the city, baked goods are A+Absolutely cannot find a fault with this small store

BBQ Lunch Box. This little gem in Chinatown have a good range of BBQ lunch sets that starts at $6 a box. That’s pretty reasonable since they serve you with big servings. Be it pork, duck or chicken or even a combination of any 2 or 3 meats. There’s also curried chicken rice if you like it. They gave you enough gravy to enjoy the whole meal. They also sell a variety of Chinese delicacies and bakery goods that are simply irresistible!
