Average at best. Pakoras are not good. Something supposed to be delicious and fried…not good? It’s possible at Sutra. The chickpea and chicken curry are mediocre, and the naan bread is thin and frail, almost burnt. Not chewy like traditional Indian cuisine. I can’t get better tasting Indian food at the Mayfair mall food court. Blech.
Love that Vikram is dipping his toes into the Island market, but the tease of amazing Indian food kills me… It’s great and always good quality. Vikram just needs a new SHANTI OR VIJ’s or RANGOLI out here… Stop teasing us…..we want a beautiful sit down Indian space….
Foodie at Large. Tasty lunch of kale and navy bean curry with naan and a little salad… I like my meat, but boy howdy this little vegetarian delight will keep me coming back for more. $8.40 taxes included for a yummy lunch with friendly customer service….see you soon Sutra.
Don’t order the Sutra Poutine. I ordered the Sutra Poutine – with the vegetarian sauce. The French fries were not fresh – they had clearly been sitting in the fryer from a previous order, allowing them to become room temp and then refried for my order as they were tough and overdone by the time I got them. A bean sauce was served over the fries with a small sprinkling of tasteless texture of cheese (?) crumbles. The fries were hard and chewy, the sauce was lukewarm and definitely not worth $10.50. Very disappointing and never coming back.
Saved the Day!!. Saved my bacon by providing hot, ready-made basmati rice to-go for a pot-luck I had right after work! The rest of their menu is spectacular too!! YUM!!
I get the kale and navy bean curry all the time. Delicious. The naan bread is also amazing.
It was not I was expecting. Not a traditional Samoosa! A lot of potato which lackedFlavour apart from Chili. I have been spoilt by having delicious Samoosa’s from my native South Africa. I thought Vij’s were Indian food experts..sub par.
