  AMAZING. I have been to every authentic curry house in Victoria and most of the ones in Calgary too. We wandered into this place walking downtown one summer evening and fell in love. The food was incredible, the chicken tikka masala was the best I’ve had. The staff was friendly and attentive and we had a beautiful table by the open window on Warf. Our spread was so fabulous that not one but two different couples stopped to ask how it was, one of which came in to try it for themselves. I can’t wait to go back for seconds and thirds. They had curried calamari, a delightful mango lassi and all your favorites with some new treasures I’ve not seen elsewhere.

  We tried the lunch buffet. The curried goat and the dahl were excellent but the broccoli/tomato salad was awful. The tomatoes were rubbery and tasteless. The deep fried lumps of mystery batter were cold and hard. Great location, good service, great curry, but pass on on the appetizers.

  The mulligatawny soup at Zaffran is amazing with mouth watering flavor and is a great way to start a meal. The Zaffran machi, a spiced and pan fried fish appetizer was also extremely flavorful with balanced heat. The Palak Channa entree we sampled was rich and satisfying especially with the aromatic coconut basmati rice. The staff was also friendly and attentive – even bringing us a free order of nan although we said we didn’t need any with our meal. Finally, the house chai was a perfect way to end our meal. There are also a large number of other drink options including some interesting cocktails and classic non alcoholic choices like mango lassi, spiced yogurt lassi and a number of different juices to choose from.

  Amazing indian food. It was great dining at zaffran..the best indian food we ever tasted, my each n every family member loved the place and atmosphere..staff was so gentle and kind..we got actual hospitality services at Zaffran..will surely visit again..:)
