This place deserves 5 stars. My family and I dine here frequently and the food is always fresh and we can rely on the service. The chefs work hard to put out great tasting food. Upon reading the previous review, I have to strongly disagree with them. Staff is ALWAYS kind. Prices are fair, and compared to other sushi places in town, on the cheaper side. check this place out!!
This place doesn’t even deserve 1 star. Store bought Teriyaki sauce, they served the Gyoza with THAI sweet chili sauce, not a traditional Japanese sauce at all….The service was below sub par and entirely unprofessional (swearing, flippant, unobservant, inattentive, waited 20 minutes just for our bill which we had to ask for after sitting with empty dishes) not to mention she complained that she was super busy (there was 2 other tables in the place). The sushi fell apart when you try and pick it up to eat it. But I guess that’s what you get when teenagers run a place. I will never be returning.
I just love this place. I’ve had sushi all over and, although not the best, it comes pretty close. The only down side is the wait I have had a couple of times while I’ve been in there, especially for takeaway. A hour for sushi is WAY too long!!But it’s always fresh and delicious and the service is very good.Great little place!!
I was visiting friends in Duncan from September 15th to the 17th of 2015. I went to Sushi House twice and both times were good. I ordered a veggie roll and appetizer tempura and miso soup, it was good. My friend ordered seared tuna nigiri and an item they call monkey brains and it was also good. The only complaint is the prices are a bit high compared to other places I go to.
Amazing sushi, amazing ramen. Their assorted tempura is a HUGE portion. I wish they had more hard spirits ie: Vodka or come ciders as I am not a beer drinker, nor a sake drinking. Their real crab california roll is to die for! AMAZING flavor, juicy crab, definitely will be back!!!! By far the best place for sushi in Duncan!
Best Sushi EVER!. Wow amazing food , and fabulous service! We are from Victoria and were driving to nanaimo, stopped at sushi house and had a wonderful experience. They were very consciencious about our daughter who has a severe allery to gluten. We would recommend coming here to everyone, wish they had a resturant in Duncan!
Sushi returned!. I’ve been eating Sushi for nigh on 17 years up and down the west coast and across the globe. I’ve never had to return a meal until now. On a wet & windy December night we tried a couple of rolls (Red & Unagi) for $20+ for 16 tiny pieces (see picture below) , which is way more than we pay elsewhere, suffice to say these were not only the smallest servings I’ve ever been served, but the fishy smell put us right off our meal. We each tried one piece and couldn’t swallow. You have to seriously not care about your food to be putting out such bad Sushi. First and last time. They recently changed cuisine from Vietnamese to Japanese. Why ? I can only conclude that their previous menu wasn’t anything special either, but I’ve never been so disgusted with Sushi takeout that I had to take it back.On a positive note, they refunded the meal after we drove back 12mins especially.
