Well, I think I found yet another place to get a great afternoon meal. This was my first time here. A friend and I decided to share some appetizers, and in was a good idea. We got oysters, calamari, fish tacos, some toast with avocado and stuff on it, and some dessert. I enjoyed everything equally. I’m definitely going to return to try other things.
This place has gotten better and better over the past few months, and currently, I would consider it one of the top places to brunch and dine. A few select new items on the menu were amazing and the service is excellent, and of course, the view is breathtaking. It is apparent that the current management is right on! We breakfast/brunch out approximately 3 times a week and have tried almost all places in Vancouver, and can confidently say, this is our regular spot – and we’re picky! LOL
Nice view and good service. I went with some Mandarin speaking family friends and it was quite funny because the waiter gave us all chopsticks even though we didn’t ask for any just because all of us were speaking Mandarin. I guess that’s quite accommodating! The good itself was alright, we ordered the lobster prawn roll, mussel pot, beach house salad, tuna nacho dish, and calamari. I thought everything was okay, but not necessarily a place I would suggest to go on a normal occasion. Although it was quite nice to have a stroll by the beach after our meal!
I stumbled across this place while walking the beach with a coffee one morning. The next day i stopped in for lunch. I had the mussel pot with fries and my friend had the fettucini alfredo. She claims it was the best alfredo she’s ever had. The mussel pot was quite good as well. The portion was huge, the mussels fresh and the flavours were very nice. The staff was very warm and inviting, even though i was in my dirty work clothes. My advice, however, is arrive early, before the patio fills up. Cause it does
Disappointing Birthday Dinner!. We were in Vancouver for the weekend to celebrate a birthday and choose the BeachHouse for the birthday dinner. We were a party of six. The hostess was lovely but our server was incredibly bad. He was aloof and rude. The food service was incredibly slow and the food was mediocre. The combination of poor service and food put a bit of a damper on our evening. This was our second visit to the restaurant – our first experience was very positive and that’s why we returned but due to the recent experience we would be very hesitant to return again. Hopefully this review will encourage management to make some positive changes as the BeachHouse has incredible potential and the location is stunning!
Not Again. Have you got that feeling that you plan few weeks in advance for Valentine Day and you think that you take your significant other to a nice place for a nice V day dinner and Everything is not according to the plan ?Well that was me on V day !took my significant other there for a long awaited reservation on Valentine DayFirst was the sitting arrangements were like a bar and when asked for better sitting, the alternative wasn’t that good. either 2nd : Set menu ONLY for V Day for 85$ per person . ok so for that price you think you get something exquisite or close to it! it was Swish Chalet Quality food , salty steak, over dressed salad and appetizer, salty dry mashed potatoes, and super small desert. 3rd : Ambient was not set and few people even left. didn’t want to make the same move as others as everywhere else was booked that night so we had to stick to that place .4th : nothing else on the menu except the set menu and the wine list was just not to the par I have been to a lot of Valentine Day Dates, and this was definitely no to be remembered.
Meh! For $10 drinks, $23-$33 entrees you expect something special. Appys were tiny and expensive. Decent but definitely not worth the $13+. My Halibut and chips were mediocre at best. Felt like they had been under the hot lamp for quite a while before it got to me. Coleslaw was blander than bland. Tartar sauce was a lightly modified mayo that was as warm as the halibut. Have had vastly more superior food from a foodtruck. All in all for $100 meal for 2, regardless if the location you should get a pretty damned good meal. Won’t be back.
