Lovely spot to sit on the patio, on a bright sunny day, and enjoy a pint and some eats. Went here with my Mom for brunch – we both had the Eggs Benedict and it was delicious! Eggs cooked perfectly (medium, by request), as was the hollandaise. The pan fries were crispy and delicious and the portion was just right. I usually find myself at The Red Lion to enjoy a beverage or two but I will definitely be back to try more of their food. Also, GREAT service! We had a super attentive and friendly server and although the patio was busy, our food came out very quick!

Very very slow service. We ordered salads and burgers for takeout and it took 45 mins… It took another 20 minutes to track down a person to take payment. They told us they included cutlery and napkins, but they actually didn’t. Food was alright – lettuce in the salad seemed slightly old.

Reminiscent of Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, before they transform them….. This is by far the worst dining establishment in West Vancouver, and yes there is a MacDonald’s on that side of town. The food is regretfully forgettable if you can even stomach the absolute atrocity that they attempt to feed you for a ridiculous sum of money. Everything in their restaurant is pre-frozen other than prime rib on Sundays, and even that would be lucky to constitute pig slop. From fish and chips, to crummy bar food, to the lamb shank, defrost throw some butter and garlic on it and lets call it a meal. The only way these people make a go of it is by servicing a 70+ age group whom they booze up prior to bringing the food out. They take their time bringing the food to sell more booze. By the time the food gets to the poor old folk, they cant taste the crap this place serves. And, its pitch black inside like something out of tales from the crypt… good luck seeing what you’re even eating. The young female staff in their Lululemon pants are likely all that keep the randy old men coming to this place. The desserts are also terrible. Try the bread pudding…. also surprise surprise, pre-frozen and disgusting. I wouldn’t feed this food to my dogs. Apart from alcohol this establishments highest cost of operation is probably their electricity bill from running the massive freezer filled with pig slop in the back. They would be embarrassed to sell crap like this in Costco. The only culinary success this place has is giving people the squirts. Even the elderly would be wise to stay at home and consume liquor until they lose their palate and order dominos. This place shouldn’t be called the red lion, it should be called the red hot steaming pile of dung. If I won free meals from this place for life, I’d rather starve to death.

This place is great if u like classic British pub! Good selection of pints and other bevies. Food is fine. Nice free homemade chippies, fresh salads, fab chowder, crispy wings. Prices are good for west van. All in all great place to unwind and watch telly

Boring, bad service, overpriced. If I was 85 and on a dr prescribed diet of bland n boring I would consider going their again. I was there for brunch n I think mcdonalds does a better job. The service was terrible, took forever to get a drink order in. My eggs were burned, and the manger was rude. Get your act together! I used to enjoy this place but gone WAY down hill in recent yrs.

I like the Red Lion…. The Owner/Manager is still the same old grump he has been for 30 years but his staff are lovely. Love the fresh, complimentary chips that are made every night and the selection of beers is impressive. Outside patio is nice with a portion covered as well. And here is the surprise. They serve one of the best steaks you’ll find anywhere in the Lower Mainland. I discovered it by accident and honestly, I have it every time now as its so good. In reality, I have never been disappointed with anything the kitchen has put out. This is a great pub. Now if only the Owner/Manager would crack a smile!! Recommended.

Fish was soggy, chicken burger was skimpy on the chicken and had mustard added – very unconventional for chicken. Yam fries were overdone.
