This friendly, family-run bakery and cafe is my favourite place on the White Rock beach front. It’s a 5-10 minute walk from the pier in East Beach and they are open late in the summer. I’ve been here four times and tried their nut-free macarons (how impressive is that? and so many flavours to choose from), ice cream (two scoops and with free waffle cones), and chocolate chip cookies (soft and delicious) so far. I’m looking forward to trying lunch here sometime now that it’s offered for summer. I hope to also try their cupcakes – I just haven’t seen them on display yet! And let’s be honest… I’ll try everything here eventually. I’m somewhat addicted to baked goods. They bake everything fresh right beside their cafe and do custom cakes as well.I also appreciate their efforts to use natural ingredients and their commitment to being earth friendly. They are a nut-free bakery and attentive to other allergies. I saw them go above and beyond for a customer with allergies by happily double-checking a recipe’s ingredients. They care and it shows.
A quaint, cozy little place serving great coffee, baked goods (all homemade) and ice cream. They make some of their own gelato in bars that they dip in chocolate. To. Die. For.Go on a Sunday when Alvin the owner is there making delicious cappuccinos. He’s so friendly you feel good just having been there. I love this place. It’s a hidden gem for sure!
We stopped by during a morning walk for an Iced Coffee and a London Fog. I can absolutely say that we found both drinks very well made and delicious! We sampled a couple mini Red Velvet cupcakes and found them scrumptious! Yeah, we’re both picky and this place hit the spot. Definitely a well kept secret! Stop by and enjoy!
Hidden Gem!. This little bakery-cafe is a real hidden gem. Being a local of White Rock, I avoid the beach in the summer so I didn’t discover it until now (when I can find a parking spot)! We wandered in on a Sunday and had a bowl of soup and sourdough buns. They soups were great and the bun was good too. Then we took home cookies (ginger and chocolate chip) and they were amazing. It’s a family bakery – we met the pastry chef’s husband and his sister. They were SO friendly! They are a small operation, so they only bake enough for their coffee shop and three kinds of buns to serve with their homemade soups and chilis. However you can order just about anything imaginable. Great catalogue! and they have a Christmas baking deal for $57. I ordered almost 10 dozen things for that. I think they have gluten-free stuff too.
