Found a dead bug in our fish sauce tonight….we have been here to Lotus a few times and each time we have enjoyed the pho. The service has always been mediocre – they have lots of staff but they all seem to ignore you and you need to flag someone down to get something (more water, tea, Bill etc.). Tonight was especially disappointing in that when we received our appetizer there was a dead bug floating in the fish sauce. I had to flag down our server and she acted suprised and took the dish back into the kitchen and proceeded to yell something to the kitchen staff. Our pho arrived shortly after but by then I had lost my appetite and took a few minutes of searching the soup to make sure it was clear of unwanted guests. . A few minutes later the server came back with our appetizer and muttered sorry under her breath. We didn’t want it back and when we finally were able to flag someone down to get our bill (15 minutes after our server cleared our plates) – we were charged for the appetizer.
Another favourite of the boys, and I gotta say its really grown on me too! Nice big bowls of authentic pho, rice plates and a good selection of side orders to boot. The place is Vietnamese-owned and that authenticity is reflected in the food. Also being able to up-size your bowl to a large for about two bucks is truly, truly winning at life haha. The service is wonderful and the lady who owns the place is incredibly nice! I also like the decor of the joint, its kind of like a casual lounge, gives it a simple, clean and cozy feel. I have never been disappointed at this joint. The large number 1 is the way to go. Fast tasty and served without any fuss or pretentious. Go and be fed and leave happy.
I went here for lunch the other day and was very happy with my experience.I arrived around 11:30am to beat the noon rush. Service was quick and I was in and out withing about 25 minutes. Flavor was good and prices were good. I felt like it was nice and clean and I will most likely return
Food is great here! I spend quite some time here for lunch or dinner. Service, not so much. But we can’t win em all. Some of the boys need to do an attitude check. when a customer ask for something, check your sass at the door.
My boyfriend and I ate here for lunch yesterday. We were seated right away. I ordered the grilled chicken with spring roll meal while he got the porkchop with julienne pork and egg meal. After about 10-15 mins, we got our food and I was so overwhelmed by how big the servings were. So glad it came with soup!! First bite was delicious. I loved my meal! The place itself is very clean and spacious. TVs were showing the Olympics which was a plus. Service is also pretty good! I’ll definitely come back.
Terrible service. It wasn’t very busy when we arrived around 8pm on a Wednesday. We were seated quite promptly and we were given tea but that was the last we saw of any server. We only needed a few minutes to check the menu out and was ready to order. About 5-10 minutes after we we were seated, a group of 10 people came in. They were seated immediately, given drinks, and after 2 minutes, were asked if they were ready to order. I was shocked since out of the 2 servers there, no one bothered even looking at us this whole time. To make matters worse, we were sitting at the booth beside the large group. Both of us were trying to make eye contact with either server this whole time and no one bothered looking our way. We were fed up waiting (probably about 20 minutes now) so we walked out. I’ve eaten here once before and found the food to be average.. Nothing special. We were just in the area at the time.
