Only one staff member worked on the night we visited. We had to go up to the front counter to get him to take our order. Got a dessert dish wrong. So we sent it back. But never got a replacement for the correct dish. We had one member of our group leave without getting any dessert. HK milk tea was overly sweet but watered down.
Scorpio’s M Dessert is a little shop hidden on Alexandra Road. They specialize in homemade shaved ice desserts.The pancakes are wrapped up like cheese burgers and are pretty good. It comes with 1 piece per order, but its definitely enough for 2 people to share one.Overall, we didn’t like any of Scorpio’s M’s shaved ice desserts. The only item that was good were the mango and durian pancakes. They were hugeWith so much competition in the area for shaved ice, the icy texture of shaved ice was so 10 years ago. We are seeing more and more shaved ice places having smoother product with a better consistency. foodology.ca
We wanted dessert as usual and thought we would give Scorpio a shot. It is quite new so the place was empty. We ordered the mango and black rice with shaved ice, the strawberries and ice cream in coconut milk, and black rice and ice cream with shaved ice. The rice and fruit were good and fresh, but the dessert that came in the coconut milk was really warm. This is quite unusual considering we wanted a dessert (cold and refreshing one) but instead we were served something that could pass as a meal due to its warm temperature. We actually had to ask the server for extra ice to make the dish more enjoyable.The service was fine as we were the only customers there and the prices were okay. This place has some potential, but we won’t be back any time soon.
