It’s all about the view. The food was ok and the service was ok. Wouldn’t go back for the restaurant but will go back to the winery for the view.
My girlfriend and I took a road trip to osoyoos. It’s about a 5 hour drive. Since we were in wine town we decided to try this place out. First impressions? HOLY BEEP the view is breathtaking… We even got a quick glimpse of a rainbow while dinning on the patio. The owners are a husband (chef) and wife (host/manager) team. They said they use to live in coal harbor and moved out here. We ordered their recommended bottle of white wine (gewurztraminer) with the chefs tasting menu and appies. Mind you we didn’t have a budget on this day. It can add up very quickly. A place like this I always ask what’s good and carry on. Only downside was that our teenage server forgot our bill and our dessert. The rating would’ve been higher. But the service from the lady owner, very lovely. She romanced all the dishes. Cheers.I will come back again. Perhaps with a front cover on my car. If you city folks aren’t aware, it’s cricket country out here and it’s everywhere! Don’t worry they are friendly 🙂
Arguably one of the best restaurant in the South Okanagan. I especially enjoy stopping for lunch during the Summer, as their glass-walled patio offers breathtaking views, and the charcuterie platter is a go-to for such an occasion, and the pizza is also stellar. I recently visited for a rare dinner appearance, and due to the slow season, enjoyed a very quiet, personal dining experience. Despite that, the service was still excellent, and the food was superb. The wine list is solely focused on their own wines, which its understandable, but many winery restaurants feature others wines, even if it’s from other countries rather than competitors down the block. Regardless, it’s an exceptional dining experience.
The pizza was delicious. The crust was crunchy and the toppings were completely melted on the pizza. The carbonara was a little bit on the oily side and the pasta was really under cooked. Enjoyed my lunch on the patio though, the view was beautiful.
Wierd food plating. The service was good but the food was wierdly plated. The beautiful piece of salmon was swimming in a cheap broth with a few peas and 3 tortilinis. The elk was amazing and it was laying on a squirted unappetizing condiment of polenta. The polenta tasted like they just took it out of the fridge and squeezed it out of a tube. How can you have a high class restaurant in the okanagan and totally ignore the local bounty of fresh vegetables and fruits as sides on the plate…… just couldn’t get over how bizzare the combinations were. They took fantastic meats and screwed them up by trying to be hip….. totally wierd…. but the wine was fantastic
Terrible service, party of ten on a wine tour, took over two hours do lunch! Our server was hardly around, messed up 3 orders (I never got the appy ordered, another couple in our group got the wrong thing but just kept it in fear of waiting another hour, and one person in our group never even got his order). Absolutely horrible, will never return. Really too bad as it put a huge dent in our day as we ended up missing 2 wineries on the tour due to their horrible service, never mind the cost of having our tour driver sitting in the parking lot for over two hours while we sat there.
Great food, weird service. …. Great food, weird service.Went for tapas on a weekday afternoon. The fennel sausage Neapolitan pizza was exceptional. The cheese plate was good. A nice trio of local cheeses augmented with very tasty nuts and fruit. The crackers were disappointing; the cheese was much better with the leftover pizza crust. Bread would have been nice. (We were expressly told that bread is never served with tapas. ok… how about in exchange for money??)The honey chicken wings were ok. Crispy and good flavour, but not the meatiest.Depending on who was serving us, we were treated with a mix of indifference, impatience and friendliness. Could have spoiled the experience, but at the end of the day the food and the beautiful location shone through.
