It’s alright, gone downhill…. I used to go to Spice Jammes all the time with my Indian boyfriend. It used to be really good but in the past 5 years it’s gone all downhill. Sure the food taste alright (although somewhat bland), but I noticed I’m getting less and less meat and vegetables for a higher price. Not exactly a good deal.If you want truly good Indian Food, head to Masala Bites. It’s the most Authentic in town and now, I never go anywhere else!
Only went cause we had a groupon. Only thing I could think well being there is why would anyone come there without a groupon. Wouldent go back! East Indian food is better at any other to go place in town (for East Indian food) wouldent go back! Very expensive.
Polite & Tasty. I really enjoy eating at the Spice Jammer. It is by far the best Indian food I have had in the city. One of the members of my party eats really mild and they were even able to give her something mild that still had a lot of flavour. They were super busy when we were there, and the servers were very polite and attentive. We will be back.
Food and service were fine. Expensive – 3 people; no drinks or bread or chutney or dessert. One appy. $63 before tax and tip.
Fools!. Don’t be fooled! – This place is ridiculously over priced and the food is nothing more than a small amount of goop with a half of a chicken breast. An average of $18 for a dish of goop that tastes like it was made last year and put in a freezer pack? I spent 10 years in Vancouver visiting countless Indian restaurants and have never felt so ripped off and disgusted. On top of the poor food and price experience, they make the servers wear ill fitting sheets that I guess are supposed to look something like a traditional sari, but when they are all caucasian and the so called sari/sheets are falling off of them… come on… get with it. poor girls… I would be so embarrassed to work there.NOTE: I suspect that the owner of this place reviewed their own place. There was a review that was posted immediately after I posted my first edit contradicting everything in my review… even the Saris. The last review before mine was APR 07 2013 – about 8 months before. Damage control? I will look into it… 🙂
Gotta say the curry was good. I really enjoyed the flavours. However, like most of the people who wrote reviews, I feel they are WAAAAY overpriced! For instance the chicken curry I ordered had 7 small pieces of meat (equivalent to 1 breast?) and was $16 – then you have to buy the rice seperately, and nann seperately, and chutney seperately, and riata seperately… You get the picture. Two of us spent $80 and left feeling hungry.
