This place was incredibly busy, however, there are no carts being wheeled around, which was a bit disappointing. It’s quite a large restaurant, so the atmosphere is really nice. The food was quite average for a yum-cha place, along with the prices. I expected the golden buns to have a thicker paste inside them and found the sesame balls overwhelmingly oily. The zhongziwas really nice though- it would definitely be my favourite dish.
Food was very fresh. You can tell the seafood was caught fresh in Vancouver. However, the wait for seating was troublesome and it did take about 10 minutes for seating. Other than that food was worth the wait.
Although it took us a while to get a seat at this restaurant, Dynasty Restaurant is a must try for their dim sum. We ordered the black truffle dumpling (cool to try out, mainly filled with mainly mushroom), scallop and snow pea tip dumpling (wrapped in a black skin with a nice seafood flavor), baked pork pie (very delicious with a pepper sauce, wild rice lotus leaf (extremely flavorful than most places), and eggplant with shrimp (good, eggplant was not oily with a lot of shrimp). Prices here are around $7 – $9 per dish. I would definitely recommend this place to try out. Also, try to be there early or have a reservation in advance as they can get extremely busy.
Went for lunch time take out dumplings and got home to very small portions for the price. Some orders were only three pieces for $7. Taste was average for all our orders.
Service. Was. Terrible. I couldnt get over how expensive this place was for food that didnt even taste very good and such bad service. We felt like we were burdening our waiter whenever we asked for him, he was very lifeless and like he didnt want to be there. The food was far below average. The only good thing was the lame soggy sweet and sour chicken. The veggies that I always look forward to in a Chinese place was the most disappointing. The waiter didnt answer our questions very well and/or didnt seem to know the menu very well.
