A filling felafel. When I read that Falafel Plus made Israeli-style felafel sandwiches, I thought it was a mitzvah. The best falafels I ever ate were in the Old City of Jerusalem when I was kibbutz-tripping in 1980. (Followed in close second by falafels from just any street food cart in New York City.)The distinctive thing about Israeliafels vs. other ethniics’ (I’ve studied them ’cause I’m into this stuff!) is the toppings Israelis put on. Every Zionafel-maker has their own style of relish. Different pickled veggies, cheeses, olives, dressings… The falafel-makers get loyal followings by people who like each patty slapper’s flavour.I’ll give Falafel Plus credit for serving a filling sandwich. It’s got four or five falafel balls, freshly heated, with lettuce and tomato. Their slaw has marinated eggplant, red peppers and other veggies, moistened with a hummus-y dressing. It’s STUFFED, and so will you be if you eat it. Bonus if you go there between 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. when it’s half-price — only $3.49. I would have liked it to have been spicy-hotter, with some pepperoncini, maybe some feta and olives, but that’s just me. I make falafel at home that way.Because I got my falafel cheap, I had enough spare change to buy one of Falafel Plus’s spinach pies. It was big enough to fill my hand, and the filo pastry was nicely puffy. The filling was unusual, tasting half of spinach and half like potato. It was like a spinach knish in Greek pastry. Not bad, just different.

Surprising this place serves up a really good falafel pita. The Falafel is probably best I’ve had in town. They appear to use high quality ingredient. The taste is great. The place is quite small, so take out may be required. The organic chicken plate is good, but find sometimes the flavor to be a little bland. Note that the chicken takes time to prepare and they rarely serve it right when they open. Usually ready around 12:30 or 1 pm which is inconvenient. Overall experience: thumbs up

This place was closed during their business hours. We travelled far to go there. And didn’t even have a sign when they will open again. I wouldn’t waste my time going there again.

Heaping servings of some of the best salad I’ve ever had. Strangely enough I’m a carnivore. I can’t go one meal without meat. THIS is a vegetarian plate and I gotta hand it to them – if this is what I get to eat I everyday I would gladly convert any day. God it’s like a miracle that salad can move me so much. Oh and you must note that the falafels come right out of the deep fryer upon ordering. There’s this salad made of eggplants or some kind of squashy vegetable that is worth taking home by the container.

Fresh, yummy, and sooo tasty!. Their falafel is definitely the best in city. But the large selection of salad/marinated salad is what make this place memorable. The babaganush is so very good; it is pureed roasted eggplant with just the right amount of spices and olive oil. It is divine on crackers and bread. Falafel Plus is a great addition to the new Cambie shopping hub. Check it out! You will thank me!

The Best. This little place offers up not just the best falafel sandwich I’ve had in Vancouver, but the best I can recall from several stints in Israel. The only thing that might disqualify my opinion is that I’m a Goy.

Plus is the word!. I am going to come out and say it right off the top: This might be the best falafel in town. Loaded with a myriad of veggies, several that you don’t usually see in a falafel: roasted eggplant, pickles, and purple cabbage plus the usual lettuce and tomatoes. The pita is stuffed not rolled which is a plus because everything stays inside. The falafels are extra crunchy because they’re right out of the deep fryer. Plus they serve pizza, soups, salads and Jewish favourites like Potato Knishes, Latkes and for breakfast Shak-shuka. The biggest plus is it’s all ORGANIC. Super friendly staff and a small, modest, clean space helped make this a great first visit. I am sure we will be back often because we’re always shopping in the neighbourhood. FYI this is a kosher restaurant, so they are closed on Saturdays to observe Shabbat, the Jewish day of rest.
