The rice and chicken in the shawarma plate is delicious! Personal I’d like to be served more tabbouleh than standard greens, and more garlic in my hummus, but the ingredients were all fresh and tasty. They serve draft beer and have a patio too, which we could always use more of it Vancouver!
Absolutely delicious food!! My husband and I love it! He’s a meat eater and I’m vegetarian and we are both well fed after a meal here. Fast, convenient, authentic. Highly recommended.
NowThatsGood.. Maybe there is hope.Wonderful flavors, draft beer, affordable wine, street front sitting. Small, cozy place. These people are knocking it out of the park. The food is really good and I have to agree with other reviewers here, some of the best mid eastern food I’ve had.I like everything about it.please, please keep serving up such good food.
Delightfully Good Find. What a delightful find! We had stopped at the deli across the street and were disappointed with its current offerings since it changed hands. I spotted Falafully Good across the street and am so glad I did! The small storefront shop smelled incredibly wonderful from the moment we walked in. Two separate shawarma stands were rotating, enticing us with beef and chicken options. I had wanted falafal but was lured into a beef shawarma wrap by the vision before me. The wrap was incredibly, filled with beef, veggies, hummus, tabbouli and hot sauce. Truly one of the best I’ve eaten anywhere. My partner ordered a samosa and was very happy with the large, veggie filled treat. The hot optional hot sauce is a lovely addition, and they topped it with tabbouli as well, for an interesting fusion experience. After the meal, I asked if the food were halal or kosher. Everything they serve is halal, and eating meat from animals that were humanely and sustainably raised is always a bonus in my book. I’ll be back! Strongly recommend.
Simply the Best!. Their Chicken Shwarma is the best I have had, hands down…nothing else even compares…anywhere. Just thinking about having one of these tasty wraps makes my mouth water in anticipation they are so nicely spiced and when I do make the trek to Oak Street to have one, I smile the rest of the day, my tummy and tastebuds are happy. My husband eats the donairs and is equally as satisfied, I highly recommend this place to everyone. Even the baklava is delicious and the prices are very reasonable and the service is quick and friendly.
Mmmm, Falafel. Let me start off this review by saying that I hate Falafel. Or rather hated Falafel.. until I ate it here. I was so used to the greasy, over-fried golf balls that I never really gave it a chance. Imagine my surprise when I decided to try it again here, only to have my previous opinion wiped out by these scrumptious, crispy ovals of chickpea deliciousness. The Falafel plate was excellent, with so many flavours coming together, with the perfect falafel at the centre. It makes a perfect light lunch, but if you have a bigger appetite, be prepared to leave wanting more. Also, the staff, there were very warm and friendly and made the cozy restaurant inviting and pleasant.Take it from this former Falafel-hater: Do yourself a favour and ignore all the big box stores and chains, and get yourself a good, honest meal from some very nice people.
Green flavours. There are many variations on the basic idea of falafel — made with chickpeas, yellow peas, fava beans, other pulses, mixtures of them? Various places throw their own spices and binders in. That’s not even getting into the breads, slaws and other toppings that restaurants use. This is why I like to try as many falafel joints as I can.Falafelly Good makes some greeeeeeen falafel. I’m not sure what spice or herb makes their balls that colour, because whatever it is, it doesn’t dominate the taste. On the falafel platter I had — good value-for-money at $6.50 for a decent-sized plate full of food — there were three falafels about the size of slightly flattened golf balls. Outside crunch was nice, and they had been freshly cooked for that platter. (Some places are known to nuke pre-made falafels.) What stood out most was the red hot sauce they splashed on some bland tzatziki that adorned the balls. The falafels sat atop a heaping serve of yellow rice. Musta been Moroccan style because it had a few green peas and bits of corn in it, but these were hardly enough to notice. There was some tomato/cuke/onion salad with a zesty oil-and-vinegar dressing, but the most unusual thing was their take on tabbouleh. Usually this is mostly bulghur with some parsley, but at Falafelly Good it’s almost entirely parsley, very wet with dressing, and a sprinkle of cracked wheat mixed in.
