Classic dim sum done well.Arrived here one Saturday morning just after they opened & was seated immediately.Wonderful service & staff very polite. The sui mai was meaty & has that sesame oil flavour. Super delicious. The steamed prawns dumplings contained a decent amount of prawn filling. Moist & flavoursome. The deep fried taro dumplings have a nice twist of some kind of curried ground meat & eggplant filling then the whole dumpling was topped with a scallop. The scallop although a welcomed surprise was quite dry due to it being deep fried. The bbq pork buns had a good ratio for bun to filling. The filling had sweet red chunks of bbq pork. The fried Chinese carrot cake or radish/turnip cake was fried to crispy perfection whilst maintaining that gooey texture on the inside. Shame there lacked a decent amount of diced Chinese sausage. The Chrysanthemum tea was a lovely fit to dim sum. Not too bitter. My recommendation- try the dim sum, small selection but has all the classics.

The service wasn’t great, but then places like this aren’t reknown for service. We came here for the duck and got what we wanted. Then on the second visit, the duck portion turned out much smaller. Plus for a large platter of Mushi pork, there was hardly any pork and almost no black ear fungus for which this platter was named. And only 4 small wrappers for the entire large plate. Really disproportionate helpings! Third dish was a vegetable dish that was supposed to have bamboo, but didn’t have any–just a lot of cheap cabbage filler. Dishes were not cheap, service was very slow, and food definitely not up to par. I think we were paying mostly for the decor! Won’t go back there again.

Went here for dinner for my mom`s birthday to try the Beijing (Peking) duck and also a different restaurant. Overall, the prices are high for the portion that you get so the value isn’t there. The 1st course duck with the crepes was nice if you like just skin and no meat. The crepes are smaller than other restaurants and less doughy which for me is a plus. The 2nd course duck tasted good, but the portion was way smaller than other restaurants. A lot of white crispy ‘filler’ and not as much duck meat. I would’ve thought there would be a lot of meat since there wasn’t any in the first dish. Usually, I always have leftovers of the 2nd duck dish but this time there wasn’t any (only because of the smaller portion). We also ordered a chow mein dish (shredded pork with golden chives and soft noodle) and the pea tips with garlic – both also small portions. The chow mein dish had no flavour at all, but the pea tips were fresh and yummy. Service wasn`t very good. Had to ask for 4 glasses of water twice, and after the 2nd time, they brought only 3 glasses. Also had to ask for some spicy chili oil twice. Was going to have the cake at the restaurant but decided not to because of the slow service. I wouldn’t choose to go back to this restaurant as there are other Chinese restaurants in Vancouver that offer better food and better value.

A bit over-priced. Had tired their dinner menu before, this time just got a chance to go there during lunch time.Compared to those similar Shanghainese restaurants located at Richmond, this one is a bit over-priced. However, there are not many choices in Vancouver that we can think of…The wrapping of their Siu Lung Bao was quite thick. Stir-fried Shanghai Noodles was quite greasy. I liked their Pork & Veges Wonton Soup though. Overall service was good.

Their customer service is very bad and arrogant.

This restaurant is an absolute scam. Prices are ridiculously high for the quantity and quality of food. English translations are not even close to their Chinese counterparts (ex:shrimp apparently means tiny shrimp eggs that you can’t even see). The food takes forever to come, even though the restaurant is no where near full capacity (for good reason). Manager has bad attitude and refuses to admit his own menu is inaccurate, and says there’s no difference between small eggs and larger shrimp. I ended up paying 34 bucks for a plate of broccoli and tofu! I will not go there again even if it is the only Chinese cuisine in Vancouver! AVOID AT ALL COST!

Sharks are rapidly becoming extinct and soon this restaurant will be too because despite frequent protests right outside their doors they still insist on offering shark on their menu. They must be trying to compensate for their mediocre and overpriced food. Preserve the integrity of our oceans and avoid embarrassment – don’t eat here.
