Went to Granville Island market a few weeks ago. Really wanted some Chinese food, so bought a meal at Gourmet Wok. Fyi, I’m definitely easy to please when it comes to Chinese food, love it all, cheap mall fare to expensive authentic Richmond restaurants! Expected canadianized mall quality, though price was a tad higher, but hey it’s Granville Island. The food was AWFUL!! The noodles were bland and the honey garlic pork was so tough that I ate two (took a LONG time to chew) and threw the rest away! Normally I’d try to eat around any tough parts, but the meat was unbelievably bad. And the sauce was mostly honey with smidgen of garlic flavour. Very disappointing, especially in Vancouver!! Expect this quality from a 10 yr frozen Chinese food dinner.
Terrible. There are far better choices on Granville Island, skip this kiosk it’s worse than the local Manchu Wok at a mall. Cross the food court and eat where the locals do at Rubina, the indian food there is extremely good.
