Decent place to get bun or banhmi since there are no other Vietnamese restaurants in the area so I’m extra thankful that Heart Stock is here. I especially like the house hoisin(?) sauce they have for dipping salad rolls in. Standard food and good portions for price. Good friendly service.
I came here because it seemed like a good alternative to Granville Island. Unfortunately that was the wrong decision. There were three of us in the party and we were seated. It took a little while for us to get our water and menus. The issue was actually ordering the food. We sat at the table for 10 minutes and weren’t helped. This would be forgivable if it were busy but there were maybe only 3 tables in the restaurant at that time. The waitress preferred to check her instagram or something instead of actually doing work! On top of that the waitress had some pretty long fingernails! I don’t think it was particularly safe to handle food with those.
Came here because my friend kept on posting pictures of their shaved ice. It’s near granville island and hard to find parking but I was able to find a pay parking near by. I ordered the milk shaved ice with pearls, lychee and strawberries. The portion is good and I liked the shaved ice. I was only able to come here once but I will definitely visit again when I’m in the area.
Pho broth has a slightly sweet taste, not great but still acceptable.I like the green tea shaved cream (shaved milk) but it was a tad bland. The condensed milk really should have been complimentary as opposed to a topping option.Service is very good though, attentive and friendly. thehappysloths.com
I was reluctant to try this place since I’m not really a fan of shaved ice or snow ice but this place was surprisingly good! The worker serving us was happy to answer our questions and made nice small talk with us. The dessert itself was fluffly and the lychee flavour was perfectly sweet! Loved having the strawberries for a little extra fruitiness and sweetness. And my all time favourite red bean topping to balance that sweetness over and for a new texture! I wouldn’t recommend rainbow jelly, just a personal preference though but condensed milk is a must!
fluffier and lightest shaved ice I’ve had! Lychee flavour was very present in the ice. I wouldn’t recommend the rainbow jelly, it was just chewy and gross, but that’s not the restaurants fault since they’re most likely to be pre packaged and bought. We order the four topping size and thought it would have been bigger… it looked bigger in other people’s pictures. Still confused about this place though, do the servers come with the bill? Or do you come up to the front to pay? After our plate was taken away, the waitress never came with the bill.
This is the best pho place I’ve found in the city. It’s always got consistent quality. Chicken soup and shrimp salad roll are brilliant on a rainy day.
