  • Food Is Really Great

Both times I visited Granville Island, there was always a big line to get these donuts, which is understandable. Curious about trying donut holes, I got twelve – and you can mix and match since they have several flavours! These are a great snack for walking around the market.

This is a small but popular donut shop located in the Granville Island Public Market. They offer a pretty wide range of flavours, and all of their donuts are made fresh daily. I visited them a bit early – about an hour or so after they had opened – and they didn’t have all their varieties available (sadly, I wasn’t able to get one of their giant fritters). I sampled their Chocolate Crunch, Strawberry Iced, and Honey Dew donuts. I really enjoyed the textures of their donuts, both cake and yeast variety, although I did find their flavours to be a bit basic (maybe if I had visited later, I could have tried a few more interesting varieties). Their prices are a bit on the higher side, but cheaper than Cartems (and I personally think that they taste better too). All in all, while I do think this place is a bit overrated, I still quite enjoyed their donuts, and I would recommend stopping by if you’re on Granville Island.Chocolate Crunch ($2.25):3.5/5This appears to be cake donut that has been dusted in small pieces of chocolate candy. The donut had a soft, dense, cakey texture. It was not overly sweet, and had a bit of crunch from the bits of chocolate on top. The chocolate did not provide much in terms of flavour however, and I did find the donut to be just a bit too plain overall.Strawberry Iced ($2.25):4/5This was a cake donut that’s frosted with strawberry-flavoured icing. The texture of the donut was similar too that of the chocolate crunch, although I did find it to be a bit lighter/more moist. I quite enjoyed the strawberry icing, which while bright pink in colour, did not taste overly artificial.Honey Dew ($2.25):3.5/5This was a yeast-style glazed donut. I really enjoyed the texture of the donut, which was fluffier and lighter than that of the cake donuts. While I did quite like the icing, I personally couldn’t tell the difference between it and a regular glazed donut.Summary:Food: 3.5/5Price: 3.5/5Service: N/AOverall: 3.5/5Recommendations: Strawberry Iced Donut, Honey Dew Donut

Quite a busy place in the market located at Granville Island. We attempted to try their famous honey-dipped doughnut on a busy Saturday afternoon. It was reasonably priced and the flavour was well balanced. Their doughnuts were freshly prepared and some flavours got sold out pretty quickly.

Lee’s is a nostalgic old school donut kiosk in Granville Island Market that has been around for over 35 years (looking like nothing has changed from donut to decor!). Large selection. The honey dip glazed and french crueller are my favourite. Yeast donuts are better than cake, imo. The fritters are huge. Very sweet and rich so perfect for sharing. Reasonable prices ranging from $2-$6. Above average for the common donut, but nothing spectacular. Best when warm and fresh out of the oven in the morning (like any donut shop).

My boyfriend and I have to go here every time we go to Granville Island. I always choose the honey dip donut since I don’t care for sprinkles and powdery donuts. They’re delicious! My boyfriend likes the chocolate-y ones but he says his favourite is the sugar glazed one. 1 donut is good since they’re quite rich in my opinion.

An okay donut overall but could have been less dry and dense in my opinion. Didn’t taste fresh and I wouldn’t personally recommend it. Pretty average

Fresh donuts really hit the spot! Although a bit on the sugary/sweet side, Lee’s donuts are an excellent treat and at a great price. Try a simpler sugar coated or home cut if you something less indulgent, or share a Bavarian cream!
