My girlfriend and I took a long walk from Marina side, onto the Granville street bridge, then we finally reach Granville Island. Our husky needed a water break. We came upon pedro’s organic. My girlfriend got me a ameicano and wow, it’s a pretty decent cup. Very flavorful and aromatic. I would definitely come back again and support this place. Best part of all, it’s pet friendly. Our husky loved sitting up on the chair and enjoying the nice weekend weather.I would come back again for their coffee.
We’ve been here but once, after exploring the island and needing a time-out and a cool drink. It was a pleasant visit. We ordered espresso ice cubes, which are served with milk and Madagascar brown sugar simple syrup. The young man at the counter was charming, funny and kind. The drink itself was perfect. You pour the milk over the espresso ice cubes and add a bit of the simple syrup. As the cubes melt into the drink it makes for a wonderful iced coffee, and you can continue to sweeten to your taste as the ice cubes melt. We got a muffin which was moist and slightly sweet. We sat outside, enjoyed the bird song, the sound of children playing in the distance, and the sun light. A lovely pause in our day.
Good coffee, great atmosphere. There’s a Starbucks just 50 feet from here, but I definitely prefer this place. I like the thicker and creamier milk foam in my caramel macchiato here, and the drink has a nicer caramel flavour, not just sweetness (it’s an espresso, but it’s still a caramel drink, so one would expect a dessert-like experience). Most importantly, great location. The store opens up to directly face the clean, beautiful pond that is under the Granville Street bridge. Separated from the more chaotic atmosphere near the Granville Island market area, I think this is a great place to take some alone-time next to some nice scenery.
I know there are other good coffee shops on Granvile Island. But I like Pedro’s great atmosphere. They are children friendly and pet friendly.
The soy latte tasted totally burned, I think the machines are set at too high a temperature or there was a problem with the beans. Or maybe they just overheated the soymilk – it did scald my mouth quite badly. When I mentioned these things to the two guys behind the counter they shrugged, looked at me with boredom and begrudgingly made a new one, served with a big helping of attitude. Love the organic ethics at this place, but I’m never going back.
Not bad, but there is better coffee on Granville Island.
