Video review on my youtube channel: vancity food crew pepper lunch.Pepper Lunch is a fun concept. You get a protein on rice and a bit of corn, and some sauces all on a sizzling hotplate. Then you mix it all together. My friend has been there a few times but I didn’t really care for it. I got the chicken karaage plate. Its too little food for the price so in my opinion its not worth it. Its fine to try once if curious but not something I’d repeat.
Came here on a whim and for the price and quality have to say it’s far from impressive. The food is WAY over priced and bland. You would think for $20 lunch would fill you up? The beef in the dish is very low quality. They also make you pay first and the seating arrangement is awful. I would not come back here again.
Grilling meats on the hot plate is fun and keeps your food warm throughout your meal!Portions are on the small side but justifiable considering its food quality and the fact prices ranging between $10 and $20.
Our experience at Pepper Lunch was decent. We thought the food was mediocre and that it could be improved in quantity and price. Prices for food ranged from $10-$15 and soft drinks are $1.50 with free refills. Three of us ordered the beef pepper rice, and our other two friends ordered the salmon steak and the beef pepper pasta. The food was served quickly and we were impressed by how it was served on the sizzling hot plate. The atmosphere was very bright and light, the environment was clean and we were seated quickly after ordering our food at the front. We arrived around lunch and it was quite busy but the staff was very efficient in seating us. We would have greatly appreciated it if the workers checked up on us after we received our food.
First time trying this place i ordered the Kobe Burger & Sliced Angus Steak for $13.95 got seated immediately got my order,it comes sizzling on an extremely hot cast iron pan the beef was sooo melt in yo mouth tender and very delicious i would definitely come back for future meals
I normally eat fast food place for lunch or dinner, if I am hungry and by myself and do not like to wait for my food. One of my favorite places I like to go if I am in the Broadway and Cambie Street area is Subway or Wendys. Some times, I am tried of eating fast food place. So I go to Pepper Lunch which is like a fast food place with service. I like ordering their Curry Pepper Beef with Rice. The service is pretty fast around 20 minutes wait. There are two locations one in Number Three Road in Richmond and the other is in Cambie and West 7th Avenue in Vancouver. I have not seen the Richmond location, but I go to the Cambie Street and Broadway Street Area once a month. The staffs are easy to talk to. The place in clean and the price are reasonable between $8 to $20 dollars depence on what you are eating. Remember, it is not fast food. There is no cheap place to park a car in Vancouver. I like the location of the bus stops which is in front of the place and close to the Canada Line. There are no more than 20 small tables. That is all for now.
Recently, I saw photos of the food at Pepper Lunch since they opened their new location in Richmond and thought I’d give it a try again. The way it works is to order and pay first at the counter and then have a seat at a table. We ordered the wagyu beef rice and the unagi rice. We made one them a meal so it comes with miso and pop. When they brought the food, they forgot our pop, but they got it right away once we told them. Overall, service was good. The food came sizzling hot. I found the wagyu beef to not be that flavourful compared to the unagi rice. I had to add the sauce to the wagyu one but not the unagi one. The unagi was very flavourful and tender. I liked how it came with egg too. The wagyu was good but it didn’t taste that special to me compared to beef. Also, I found the beef one to be too oily. The portions weren’t that big either. Afterwards, we ordered two mochi ice cream to go. We got the green tea and vanilla one. The vanilla was kind of odd to me because it had an orange ish colour and had a strong vanilla extract flavour. The green tea one was OK, but they were both really cold when I put it in my mouth. I thought I’d enjoy it better than the first time I went, but I felt it was the same. I left feeling still hungry. Pepper lunch is good for a quick meal, but you might want to have add one like egg or extra meat to make it more filling.
