I came here for breakfast and lunch as I worked in this neighbourhood. Their breakfast made my day! Breakfast combo – drip coffee and a fresh maple walnut muffin at $4. The coffee beans were medium roast from 49th Parallel. The coffee was a bit sour as I expected. It tasted good as I mixed it with cream and sugar. The best part was the maple walnut muffin that was freshly baked from their oven in the morning. It smelt so good and tasted excellently. It was the best combo that went very well with the 49th parallel coffee! The surface of the muffin was crispy but once you split the muffin, it was so soft inside!! I also came here for lunch the following day. I ordered their Portos avocado, bacon and egg sandwich. It tasted great! The buns were crispy outside and soft inside with lots of black sesames outside as well. What a coincidence that it was such a gorgeous day that the sun went through the windows at Porto Cafe. I was sitting there and enjoying my lunch. It was perfect! If you have a business card, give it to the cafe. They will enter your info and you can get a discount like a 10% off on your orders.
I had a great experience at Porto Cafe! The shop has a spacious and chic interior, perfect for studying and meetings. There is a bit of a rush in the morning, but most I noticed most customers were grab-and-gos. The cafe has a daily feature as well. Unfortunately, most of the sandwiches that day were not vegetarian friendly, but the barista offered to improvise and make anything for me with the ingredients they had for the day. She also kindly explained what each sandwich contains to help my friend decide. The sandwiches were freshly made- warm and toasty. My sesame bagel had cream cheese, avocado, tomato and romaine, while my friend enjoyed her deluxe grilled cheese. We both enjoyed our lattes as well.pictured: custom veggie bagel sandwich, soy latte, matcha lattefood: 4/5service: 5/5value: 3/5 ambiance: 5/5overall: 4.51: poor | 2: satisfactory | 3: average | 4: good | 5: excellent instagram.com
The best service I’ve ever had! The workers were some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. They approached my sister and I with bright smiles and a great attitude. They had no problem with all the questions we had either. I ended up trying their cadeaux london fog cake and chai tea latte. I’ve been to cadeaux before and absolutely loved their carrot cake. Unfortunately, I was disappointed in this slice. The flavours were amazing but it was cold and hard. Maybe because it had been in the fridge and had to sent over to Porto. The chai tea latte was amazing and my sister loved their turkey panini (so did I). While we were chatting, they even brought us a glass of their new tea! A+++ to their service and workers!!!
An aesthetically pleasing and eye catching cafe. Spacious enough for those who want to come in and get some work done. I had the matcha latte, I don’t have these very often so I don’t have much to compare it to. Bitter taste as matcha would have, I put a lot more milk and sugar in mine, but that might just be me. The barista here does wonderful latte art, best I’ve personally seen! Also had the apple crumble… it was gross. The first bite I had was pretty good, but then the after taste hit. It was really hard for me to finish so I pushed it to my friend. Didn’t want to return the plate with pastry that was barely touched.
