Horrendous service! Our server ignored our large party and over charged us for drinks because she did not keep track of the orders and charged us the drinks ordered by another table. Unfortunately, the other table had already left and she insisted that we pay for the other table’s tab. She then proceeded to charge us a 15% tip. After settling our bill, which included our group paying for the her incorrect overcharge from the other table’s orders, she then followed us outside, trying to charge yet again for nachos that NO ONE from our group ordered. Unbelievable!
Good pasta, but not sold on the other menu items.. Disappointing beer list. Service is hit and miss, but it’s got a good vibe inside and a nice big patio for people watching.
The 3 rating is really in honour of our waitress who had a ready smile, took orders quickly and was overall was topnotch. This review reflects only on the food. If she hadn’t done such a good job the rating would have been lower. The rest – MEH! We were there for lunch and each ordered a salad as my lunch partner was on a short lunch break. I ordered the Roasted Beet Salad (beets, roma tomatoes, candied pecans, arugula and goat cheese ) and my friend a Caesar salad with Cajun Chicken. First – it took a long time to arrive. 2 salads – one with a piece of grilled chicken. HMMMM. Hers look fine and seemed to hit the spot. Mine arrived with a absolute MOUND of lettuce mix – not arugula, and the other elements you had to dig for in that pile. I would rather have about half that lettuce and more of the other ingredients. And what happened to the argula – there might have been some in there, but it really was a mix of lettuces I could get from any store.Sorry no photos. By the time the food arrived, we had to rush to get finished in time. Won’t go back. oliobymarilyn.com
Things have changed a lot with this restaurant. New staff and new kitchen staff. The food has improved greatly and there are new beers on tape with daily specials. Definitely worth checking out. Lots of big TVs too to watch sports.
This place had some of the worst service I have ever had in Vancouver. And it wasn’t even busy…. The happy hour drink prices were good – but I wouldn’t order food here again..
This place is well below average for a bar. The food is bad. The drinks are expensive. The service is terrible, particularly during hockey games in the playoffs. You’ve been warned.
Canucks Pizza. One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had.31 Oct, 2014Much Improved. Highly recomended.. I’ve been coming to Speakeasy on Broadway for over 3 years, and while I can understand some of the older posts, it has improved exponentially over the past few months. The new manager has improved the menu (and continues to), and runs a very tight ship. At great place to watch a game, and great for group gatherings. Considering how much Speakeasy has improved recently, I would take old reviews with a grain a salt. Also, try the new pizzas. Just awesome 🙂
