Great new look and feel. This little corner cafe is right on the bike path at 16th and Heather. You can go in and get your bike serviced and enjoy a tastey sandwich and coffee. This little place has a great feel and great owners. My new hot spot for biking to for a little treat.

Bike repair and coffee — who woulda thunk it?. I ride by this place every day on my way to work, but it wasn’t until I busted a brake cable on a two-day bike trip that I had an excuse to stop at Tandem. Clint, the mechanic of the duo who runs this joint, fixed it for free! He also diagnosed a problem on my second bike that I had not spotted, so good on Tandem for the bike shop side. But this is a food review site, eh? So what about the coffee?I needed to get pumped up for the visit to the gym that I had planned after leaving my broken bike, so I had a large latte. It was strong-flavoured, not burnt like a lot of other places in the Pacific Northwest do. Not as good as an Aussie flat white, but not much in this hemisphere is. The best part of it was the foam, which had a lot of crema mixed in with the milk froth. I coulda drunk a cuppa that! Brett, the barista part of the operation, had just baked a batch of cookies, so I had a white chocolate/macadamia which was big, soft and tasty. Having a rationalization for coffee and sweets will take a little of the sting out of future bike breakdowns.
