$134 for this and 2 drinks. It’s not the price that leaves me a bad taste in my mouth it was the fact that the quality didn’t match the price. There’s nothing wrong with charging exuberant amounts of money for food but the quality needs to represent that of which you charge your customers. Maybe it’s my inability to taste fish because I don’t have much experience with fish. The $22 appetizer for a midget size snack but even the French would scoff at was a Tasty Bite but definitely not life changing for $22 good. Those ticks pieces that look like wontons was the $28 roll, the rice was tasty but the role was not $28 for 6 wonton sized pieces of sushi. Overall for Quality Inn regardless of the price 7.15 out of 10. You can get much better value at other high-end Japanese restaurants

I went to Tojo’s and sat at the sushi bar for the off-menu omakase. ($200+) It honestly broke a lot of preconceptions I had about the possibilities of traditional Japanese cuisine, something I’ve had my entire life!Even though none of the food appeared out of the norm, almost every dish left an impression when I actually got a taste! The sushi was served near the end and the ingredients were truly some of the freshest I’ve ever had.I can’t speak for the regular menu but my experience was definitely worth it, getting the opportunity to talk to and have Tojo hand you your sushi was just the icing on top~If you think the price point is too high that’s understandable, but there are a lot of subtleties to traditional Japanese cuisine that Tojo gets pitch perfect other places simply don’t.

My fiance and I went to Tojo’s about 3-5 months ago. I’ve now decided to write the review… I have ate at many great sushi restaurants in and around Vancouver and thought, just once I will have to try Tojo’s. It was supposed to be the best sushi in all of Vancouver, right? Wrong. We both ordered the minimum $150 omakase at the bar, and the entire time were completely underwhelmed by the food. The service was fantastic, but the food was far from what was to be expected. Everything lacked salt, surprise and excitement that you would expect from spending the type of money they were asking. There was no nigiri, and maybe one roll in the menu they served. We eventually asked for nigiri or sashimi (any raw fish at this point because most of everything had been cooked and came from the hot kitchen)For the dinner that left us hungry, wanting salt and flavour we paid over $400 for the two of us. But that’s not all… The following day, we developed the most violent food poisoning we have ever experienced.

I like the restaurant with high ceiling and sitting by the window was very nice. The server was very friendly and patient with our questions, and give us a very good suggestions! She come to check out table and change our plate regularly. So we don’t have trouble finding out server. At the end, because we only order one omakase suppose we only have one dessert, but our server gave us two dessert one was on the house. That was very nice of her. My husband and I was amazed by the food, it was fresh and with very pretty display.

This place is pricey but completely worth what you pay for. What some of the best cuts of fish in town? Come here! Amazing food, friendly and attentive service, relaxed and elegant atmosphere and an all around great time.We sat next to a couple who were such a-holes that I was near to yelling at them to stop being so rude; but the staff were nothing but pleasant, empathetic and attentive to these horrible people. While these miserable customers didn’t seem to have a nice time, my partner and I were in awe of the delicate way the staff navigated these rude people’s demands while still providing us with excellent service. The fish melts in your mouth, the sake is refreshing and delightful and the staff are attentive and skilled. Even if you end up sitting next to a couple so miserable with their own lives the only thing they can bond over is viciously lashing out at anything and everything around them; you’ll still have a great time!So go eat at Tojos, splurge a bit on some top-quality sushi, and just enjoy the entire experience.

One of the best Japanese restaurants in Vancouver! We had an Omakase menu plus baked oysters and we were stuffed. It’s pricey but to me I think it was worth it. The seafood was so fresh, like butter. 7 courses all together including a sushi plate. Service was great, we were definitely taken care of but they didn’t hover. This is definitely a special occasion dinner venue 😛 everythingbutweddings.ca
