Okay I know the service down here is pretty good and they have lovely free appetizers for you but don’t fool by this place. There is no good reason, to serve you with their super sweetoyako don or smelly salmon, not even with free, tiny flavourless spring roll or frozen grapes on tooth picks.I left 15% tips but I am pretty sure I wont come back.I love LOVE sweet food BUT THEIR OYAKO DON JUST TOOOO SWEET!!!!And the sashimi was not fresh :/ So I thought oh maybe I just ordered something they are not good at let’s order more food.And I ordered chirashi don and house tuna salad and their croquette.All of them, still flavourless… or too sweet… or too salty… or just taste like their SPICALHOSUE SAUCE(And that’s the most commont koreansweet-spicy hot sauce)And seriously, you guys count 2 tiny egg roll as 2 of the 13-pieces sashimi on top of the chirashidon???wowThis place got a lovely long menu and not overpriced food, but seriously, there are so many sushi stores just locate a few blocks away, why do i bother come back 🙂
My wife & I have been going to Yanaki since it opened. 99% of our meals have been fantastic. Only once were we served fish that wasn’t as fresh as it should have been & that was only one roll. Pretty darned good average if you ask me. How can you not like a free appetizer? The only time you don’t get one is when you show your birth certificate on your birthday. What you get is a wonderful free entree which is something that I’ve never had at any other restaurant. Really tasty!Great food, very good service & oh, those frozen grapes on a toothpick (complimentary of course) is such a cool (pun intended) way of cleansing the palette at the end of a meal. These folks get very high marks in my book. Just give them a try.
Great sushi restaurant. Good quality coupled with amazing service. I love the complementary apitizer great way to discover new dishes. The owner Joey is so dedicated to his restaurant. I always look forward to a yanaki dinner or lunch. I strongly recommend this place. Keep up the good work !
