I’m sad to say that I came out of Al and Jan’s let down. I’ve always remembered this fish and chips joint fondly, coming here since childhood. I haven’t had All You Can Eat fish and chips in a few years and remembered that this was the go-to place. I had a hankering for some deep fried goodness and stepped in ready to eat my face off. We were immediately served and our waiter was very friendly. Our food came pretty quickly but I was disappointed: the fish was oily, fries were not crispy and the tartar sauce was too mayo-y, with not enough tang. This was not the place I remembered Although they have a loyal following, I’m sad to say that I won’t be coming back in the near future. instagram.com
Awesome for the $. Well worth the $$ and food was great . need some work on staff but good bang for the $. Try everything . Not a bad choice on the menu.
Found It!. Having just arrived from the Okanagan, we just wanted to find a good Fish & Chip Restaurant. We scanned the area and decided to try Al & Jan’s on 152 St. We were quick to be served a good cup of tea and the Cod&Chips were excellent! Price was good and Jan herself made sure we were looked after. We came away thinking we would return again! Thanks Al & Jan!
Best Fish n Chips in Surrey. Best fish n chips in Surrey! The food is great, always hot and fresh. The service is fantastic, staff is very friendly. I love this place, my only complaint is they close too early.
Great Fish N Chips. We live just around the corner and order take-out with some regularity. The Halibut and Chips are fabulous and the management and staff are great. Mediocre. Today my boyfriend and I decided to try this place because the reviews were really good and C-Lovers is too far and we wanted to find something closer . Well needless to say we aren’t happy with it. The fries weren’t cooked enough and the cod was all batter and really no fish. The amount of batter they had on the cod made it extremely chewy. We won’t be going back.
Some of the best halibut I’ve ever had! And I love that you get a generous portion of coleslaw, rather than just a spoonful like most restaurants dish up. Great fries too. Glad to have found a good fish & chip place in surrey!
