Nice little spot with great menu. The miso ramen broth is full of flavour and rivals if not beats many of the new hip downtown ramen joints. Dont come here if youre expecting a great conversation with the owner/manager though. Bathrooms are nice and clean and high chairs available for the kiddies. Even though I come here often for weekday lunches and always order the same thing, I usually get no more than a hello and still have to tell her my order. Thats fine though – no need to keep a conversation going and every visit feels like the first still! 😉
This place is a hidden gem, my new favourite Surrey restaurant. The food is excellent, I’m addicted to their Tonkatsu Ramen and their takoyaki – portion sizes are ample and quality is very consistent! Plus, the family that run it are super nice.
Over time, this restaurant seems to be getting better and better, which is nice. On my first visit, I had the Miso Ramen, which was much too salty for me, even if it was miso. It overpowered much of the dish, which was disappointing. The noodles were decent, but I’ve tasted better. The only thing worth looking forward to was the soft egg. That was some good egg. Another time I was here, I had the chicken teriyaki. It wasn’t extraordinarily great, but it is quite good. The rice is well cooked and the sauce tasted just like teriyaki sauce, which is ideal. The most recent time I was here, I had the Tonkatsu Ramen; I think the best dish they serve here is the Tonkatsu Ramen. It is amazing, both the original and the garlic variation. The broth is extremely well made, and the pork is ridiculously tender. Do not hesitate to try both!Overall, if you’re not willing to go all the way to Vancouver for better ramen, eat here. It’ll save you the gas money or bus fare, and you’ll get decent ramen for a fair price.
Second time I’ve been here, the miso ramen was quite tasty along with the fried gyozas. The spicy miso ramen had some kick to it. The atmosphere was inviting, wasn’t overly busy. The waiter was friendly. I would definitely come again. It would be awesome if there was more ramen places in Surrey.
Not bad but not really comparable with more authentic ramen places. Noodles are curly regardless of which ramen flavour you use. I can also see boxes of ramen flavour packs inside their kitchen. Despite this the ramen is still pretty decent and it has a soft-boiled egg. The chashu is fatty and hit-or-miss as they only give you two pieces, sometimes it’s lacking in portion other times it’s ok, but it tends to be on the thick side.Katsu Don is pretty good but they’ve started cutting it down so that it’s only available on certain days of the week. There also wasn’t quite as much egg the last time I went. Also, the rice bowls used to come with miso soup and pickled yellow radish, but no longer comes with either item. Last time I went they didn’t even serve hot green tea like they did before, so I feel like the service has dipped.
I’ve been to this restaurant 2 years ago but had a horrible experience. Food was not great but the service was even worst. Last night, my friend invited us for dinner in this place, as much as I didn’t want to go to this place but it was my friend’s treat so I went with them. Again, I had the worst experience of my dining life on the same place and server. She wasn’t accommodating and friendly at all. I have never had terrible experience in a restaurant as much as this one! I am never ever coming back here even if it’s for free! Sorry.
I have eaten at almost every ramen resteraunt in the lower mainland and this one, is one of the best. The tonkotsu broth is thick and amazing. The ramen has all my favourite toppings including bamboo shoots, egg, black mushroom, and bean sprouts. The noodles are the perfect thickness and consistency. For meat the kakuni braised pork is absolutely amazing but the chicken and chashu are really great aswell. If you like garlic I recommend you get the side of garlic oil. It takes the soup to a whole other level. The only downside I can see is that the establishment isn’t licensed, so you are unable to enjoy a beer with your meal, but that’s not really that big a deal. All in all, don’t pass this place up
