This place is ridiculous. They will charge you for condiments! Most sushi places put sauces (including Sriracha hot sauce) on the tables. I asked for a little drop of hot sauce on the top of my tuna roll. 6 tinydabs in total….and it showed up on my bill for as an extra charge!! Don’t get me wrong, I don’t care about that little bit of money, it is more the principle of the matter. The owner is an unfriendly lady that scowls constantly and treats her staff like second class citizens; the food is barely average with a small sushi selection. It has really gone downhill in the last couple of years. DON’T ORDER ANY COOKED FOOD because they are not allowed to have any stove or oven on the premises. If you need cooked or warmed food..they use the microwave. A while ago, I had a Scallop nigiri that was bad (very smelly…made me gag)….and she refused to take it off the bill! The lady has zero give or customer service skills; I decided to give this spot another chance since it is close and convenient but since the last incident…I will NEVER eat there again..
They need to update their menu I tried to order something from the menu they told me total. It was about 27 percent more than it supposed to when I asked they told me they changed their prices.
3.75/5 – Ordered take out at Nagoya and the it was enjoyed by the whole family. Pretty standard stuff. The spicy salmon and red dragon rolls were mild so if you cant handle spice you should be okay! Person on the phone was nice and pick up went smoothly.
My family and I have been regulars here since we moved here 8 years ago. Yes, there must have been something we keep coming back for…It’s the service. The restaurant itself makes you feel at home, and the owner amplifies this feeling. She makes you feel loved and like a part of her family. Did I mention the sushi is some of the best, if not the absolute best in surrey? I don’t say this often, but I was amazed with the speed and quality of service that came with the food. Here’s to 8 more years of coming to eat at Nagoya!
So it was fast, cheap, accessible.. blah yes. The staff was very friendly and customer oriented. When I asked her to change the roll she was very willing to do it right away. However if you are looking for more than decent sushi, this place is definitely not the one. It’s too saucy, too much mayo and everything tasted very out of balance. Not much better than a sushi vendor in a mall…
How do I put this….. the food was really not good. I went there, because of the high rating. So I had high hope to have good sushi after shopping. But I have to say that I was very disappointed. Agestashi tofu, unagi donburi, assorted sashimi, chop chop roll, and smoked salmon salad were my dinner, but I barely put anything down my stomach (sorry for being so wasteful). Agetashi and unagi don were pretty standard, nothing special, but probably the best out of everything. Sashimi wise, only hamachi was fresh, salmon, chop scallop (inside the roll) and tuna were not so fresh. The worst was smoked salmon salad, the smoked salmon was so terrible to a point that I don’t know how to describe….. But to be fair, the bill was cheap and the service was quick and friendly. This place is definitely not for everyone. If you enjoy cheap (price wise) sushi with friendly environment, this is definitely the store for you!
I have at ALOT of sushi restaursnts, in Surrey, ovelr the last couple of years. I’ve been disappointed more often then not. But Nagoya sushi is definitely my favorite place to eat. The staff and owners are always very polite, and very warm and welcoming. Excellent customer service skills.They always give me a complimentary bowl of flavorful miso soup, when i eat in.The black rice dynamite rollsand spicy agedashi tofu are my absolute favorites.I encourage everyone to go try this place out
