Popular restaurant in Fort Langley (dinner reservations recommended especially in summer and weekends). Fort Langley is modernizing nicely these days, becoming more hip and trendy, and Beatniks continues to go strong as a choice destination in the village with both locals and visitors. The bistro is a former residence from 1930s, making it one of the oldest buildings on the strip. Nice front patio. Chic indoor space. Can comfortably accommodate a large table of people. Known for their huge slices of quiche (update: portion size has disappointingly gotten way smaller the past year or so). The handmade quinoa black bean burger and artisan salad was good but not very generous in size. Pricey at about $20 per lunch meal.

Absolutely love Beatniks! Though it has a smaller menu; it has a great variety! We had the spinach and artichoke dip for an appy and it was super tasty! I had the seafood linguine and it was to die for. It would have been nice to have nore prawns than salmon but that is personal preference. The taste melted in my mouth. Others ordered: the french onion soup (which looked gooey good), braised short ribs (not a crumb left on the plate), and the spring chicken (juicy goodness). For dessert we had the creme brulee. Personally, I am not a fan of the sugary topping but overall it was the best creme brulee I have had. Staff were fabulous; kind and attentive! The only downside is I felt a bit cramped at the table I was at. Will go again for sure!
We love this place – I have had the Artisan salad, crab cakes, seafood pasta, and butternut squash ravioli (on multiple visits of course). Everything is delicious. The dining room being too small is my only complaint but they are going to expand soon to take care of this problem – love this restaurant:)
great food, friendly attentive servers, love going to this place to relax. great atmosphere i would highly recommend the beatniks burger, you can never go wrong with that
Such a comfy and pleasant atmosphere. Really good gluten free choices and that drink menu – that was fantastic. The patio is definitely the place to be! And the staff are so friendly and calm, definitely adding to the feel of the place. Heck, even the bathroom was nice to be in! Everything this lovely establishment has to offer certainly fits in well with the pleasant, lazy weekend ambience of Fort Langley.
We absolutely LOVE this restaurant. One Saturday this summer we decided to take a walk around Fort Langley and when we walked past, there was room on the patio so we went in for what turned out to be a fantastic lunch! He had the turkey sandwich – fresh, soft bread, pieces of Turkey carved from a whole roasted turkey cooked on site and just enough crunch with the fresh lettuce and tomatoes, finished off with havarti cheese. Oh, and we can’t forget the fresh cranberry sauce. All put together just like a thanksgiving leftover sandwich. So good. I had the artisan salad with grilled chicken breast. It’s. Perfect. The pecans, beets and goat cheese are a nice combo with the vinaigrette dressing. It is so good I have had to twice more since our first time! On other visits we or someone with us have had most of the appetizers on the menu, the short rib, the pasta…..you cannot go wrong with anything on this menu. The reservation system is the reason for my 4 rating. It seems to change each time I call in to book a table ranging from no reservations after 6pm to no reservations after 530pm to no reservations for tables greater than 6 people. We are willing to overlook this, though, because the food and the service are great.
