The ambience of a 50s dinner with burgers, shakes and other foods.Prices are high;Shakes are ok (its hard to take big brand ice cream when there are better options within a block that serve gelato);Burgers are greasy.

Fun place! It’s got a very unique interior that I have yet to find anywhere else. The inside has been transformed into a blast from the 50’s, with Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, and other icons littering the wall. The food is phenomenal, but the best part is the jukebox. These things are the best, and it’s refreshing and fun to have them here.

My girlfriend was interested because it was a 50s theme. It’s very welcoming and has a cool interior. We were just at the museum near by and was at a candy shop. The people all recommended this diner too.Very very friendly people in this town and cafe. We had a Elvis cheese burger and a blt. Hard to mess up on those items, and they did them just fine. Our chocolate and cheery milkshakes were comforting. It’s a fun place to eat. If I was in town again I’ll pop by. Our experience was fun.

It’s kind of good for nostalgia. Was not impressed with the food. The owner took our order. My GF asked for crispy fries, once received they were under fried. The berger was boring, like something you would expect from a concession at a baseball game. The milkshake was spot on. It would be alright place for first date or a place to take the kids for a bite.

New owners about a year ago. They have turned it around! Pretty good food and at a good price. It’s greasy burgers and crispy fries, but who doesn’t want that sometimes?21 Jul, 2011I live near this diner and I feel horrible for the couple running it. They are great people but they are young and new at the restraunt gig. They would do far better if they would make food that represented their home country rather than try to ride the tired old 50’s diner theme. My sandwich was supposed to be a toasted ham sandwich but it ended up being 2 pieces of toast, a thin smear of hot dog mustard and one thin slice of Save-on-Foods deli ham…. 1 slice.,. Wtf. Anyway, drop in and give them an easy recipe if you feel like being nice, they could use our help.

Basic 50’s Fare. While sightseeing in Ft Langley , we got pretty hungry so after seeing how expensive all the restaurants and pubs were, we popped into Planet Java’s. It was packed but we managed to get a seat. After reading the massive menu on the wall, we chose and paid for our meal at the register and took our number to our seat. The decor is chalk full of 50’s memorabilia and was very entertaining to look at while we waited for our meal. The service is bare bones but we didn’t mind because of the fun atmosphere. Those wanting a more sophisticated dining experience would not find Planet Java suitable.I was a bit dismayed to see that my clubhouse was turkey roll and thick cheddar cheese but it was actually surprisingly good and very filling. The best part of my meal was the delicious potato salad that came with the sandwich. My companion was quite happy with his James Dean burger and said the fries were quite tasty. It was a pretty basic and greasy experience but I don’t think Java’s pretends to be anything more than a fun retro burger & ice-cream joint. It was an entertaining experience and we would go again. Next time we’ll order one of those heavenly ice cream treats. So bring the kids and enjoy a taste of the old days!

Wow. This place used to be a happening spot nestled in Fort Langley but between the overcrowded menu, overpriced menu items and lack of cleaning, this place has seen better days. I ordered a Fats Domino burger with chips, salsa is 50 cents extra. I also watched the server clear the table next to me and not wipe it down. The floor was dirty and the food wasn’t as amazing as it should be given the price.
