Good coffee, overpriced food. Nice coffee and friendly staff. Once, they ran out of milk and I let the girl know and she said she’d be right back. Within minutes, she had run across the street and bought milk for us. Now that’s service!However, the couple times I have eaten the breakfast sandwiches there, I’ve been disappointed. They are tasty, I’ll give them that, but they are so, so oily. I always feel sick afterwards. And for $9 a sandwich plus tax, it’s a bit steep, especially as there’s no sides such as salad or fries or even chips. I think I’ll stick to the coffee and that’s about it.
A funky little gem… for coffee. This is one of the places that my husband and I frequent for coffee and muffins in the morning. Their bran muffin is great, although it’s the only one we like to get. Most of the baked goods we’ve tried have been good and their coffee is great, and roasted locally. I’ve tried to eat there for lunch a couple of times, and have not been pleased with my choices thus far. I had the Mexican sandwich, which I thought was too wet. The combination of salsa and guacamole soaked the bun and made it fall apart. Thumbs down. I came again and got a cream of mushroom soup that didn’t impress me… I like my mushroom soup to have mushrooms in it, and this one just simply lacked any wow factor. Perhaps I’ve just had bad luck, or made bad choices with the food…but regardless, I continue to go there for coffee and snacks. Every place has their strengths and their weaknesses. As this place does have a liquor licence, I’d like to see them use the space for some kind of night event… Closing at 6 makes it an inconvenient place to come for a drink.
